The school that my children went to last year is saying that they must have custody papers in order for them to attend. My daughter who is 17 has been with me since 9/2000, went to school there some of last year and the year before. We can't afford to go to court for custody, she will be 18 in just a few months. My sons mom calls the school to let them know that he is going to be living here and they still will not let him go.

We are writing concerned for our Children’s education.Public Schools are denying our children over paper work. The situation is our son has missed 3 weeks of school this year, because we don’t have custody papers. Even though my ex-wife contacted the school and school board, and I contacted them and the state board of education. The situation is, we don’t care where the kids live, as long as they are happy, nor do we have the money to go to court to modify custody. We both have low paying jobs, do to no education, and can barely pay our bills. So why does it matter to the school? They allowed his sister to go to schools with no custody papers. They seem to be more worried about custody issues than their education. So which street corner will they collect change on?We have a total of 6 kids to support and they have a right to an education, what do we do? Isn't it a law that children have to attend school? The school board seems to think paper work is more important. Please HELP??!
