Honsetly? As a baptist, I think that the Catholics over do it a tiny bit with the kneeling and confession and other such things. I believe that the Catholic church has begun to step further and futher away from the bible and is now beginning to pander to the wants of those who are not believers. But seriously... I think God would listen to you even you where upside down and naked, while rollerstaking with a monkey.

I agree with with you. These are rules set by humans, so when we do those tricks we are basically obeying a bunch of people that decided once upon a time on how we should express our faith.
I rarely go to church. It brings out the rebel in me. I believe that as long as you are a good person, fighting the bad aspects of your character and enhancing the good ones, willing to help the others, offering your help to people and animals, you will be in heaven.
And I don't mean heaven as a green field in the sky, I mean heaven as peace in your heart and your mind, as everyday happiness because of what you are and because you can make those around you happy.

I was just about to say - sounds like the Catholic Church!
I have never understood why people feel the need to go to church because, aren't you then idolising Jesus?
People, not matter what they believe in should be able to conduct their worship or prayers wherever they feel like.

What ever the stance, the important thing is to worship God. Sometimes its just obedience or respect that makes us obey those little commands. If it bothers you, go to another church.
