After a visit to Kabul to be briefed on Nato’s International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) campaign, General Jones took the unusual step of voicing in public his dismay that the 26-nation alliance had failed to provide the troops and equipment needed for such a dangerous mission. Were in DEBT over this war,and we are having our guys killed left and right. Why can't we atleast have furnished them with better Eqpt? AND Why are we still doing combat patrols and putting our heads out there in Iraq when they are supposed to have started taking over?

I HATE reading this, makes me sick. My Husband is over there, and I am so ready for them to get out! Were not wanted there,do you agree?

A suicide car bomb blast struck a US military convoy in the Afghan capital, killing two US soldiers and 14 civilians in one of the deadliest attacks to hit the heavily secured city.

The sad part about war it is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

It would have been far cheaper (not to say safer) for the average American who pays the bills to stay out of foreign entanglements. For a very few this racket, like bootlegging and other underworld rackets, brings fancy profits, but the cost of operations is always transferred to the people -- who do not profit.

My dear girl, you are pointing the finger at the US over equipment that NATO failed to provide. General James Jones is supreme NATO commander who admonished the 26 nation force that has slowly been taking over US duties in Afghanistan, not the US. If you wish to direct criticism, direct it to those 26 countries

As I understand your comments and frustration, your husband is in Iraq, and you're ready for him to be home. I quite agree, the Iraq situation has become a quagmire, and almost exclusively due to Islam and these fanatical people who insist on allowing it to play any part at all, in governing their country.

Religion and government are like oil and water. They cannot coexist as competitors in running a country. This, we have learned through the ages, and is especially true with Islam, because every street corner jack@ss has his own way of interpreting the Koran, and most of that interpretation is just plain evil. Sorry, I digress!

The bombings will contiue as long as Rumsfeld is in charge. You see, he runs a war with a political agenda, so as not to offend his critics. It's not like the days of old when diplomacy was put in a sealed box until our military achieved unconditional surrender. It wasn't until then that we attempted to smooth ruffled feathers. Mr. corporate believes he can do both simultaneously, and he has failed miserably at both. GWB has failed too, because of his insistance on keeping this crogidy geriatric in charge.

I hope your husband gets home soon and is in better shape than when he left, you deserve to have your family back!

I agree with you, and the families of the soldiers that were purchasing the body armor out of own pocket expense will not be shipped over there anymore thanks to Congress... They won't allow it and the body armor that your husband and many others are wearing over there is 3 years out dated and not effective anymore.

I agree with you, we continue to dig ourselves into bigger debt but can't keep our soldiers alive.

I worry about my loved one over there every day. I know the feelings you are going through. And it sickens me also.
