The whole thing about Dr. Pepper having prune juice is an urban legend. Check out:

Dr. Pepper is a complex combination of 23 flavors. To me Dr. Pepper has more of a cherry, vanilla, almond, caramel, brandy sort of a flavor.

Cherry Vanilla Cola. I recently tried that new Diet Pepsi Jazz Black Cherry and French Vanilla. It tastes just like Diet Dr. Pepper.

Well, apparently it's got 23 different ones. But I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a cherry-like flavor. I don't think it tastes like cherry but it's still delicious! My favorite.

I'm not sure but the 23 ingredients in it make it super tasty although I burp like a breast fed baby when I'm done
