Extremists of any kind are foolish. Whether they're Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Republican, Democrat - it doesn't even matter.
Moderation, balance, tolerance, acceptance, and humility are the keys to a successful society.
When the balance shifts too far one way or another, or when people are screaming their beliefs in the face of others who feel differently, how can the 'message' be taken seriously?
Lead by example. People will want to follow those they admire...and no one I've ever met admires an idiot on a bullhorn screaming senseless dialogues at no one and everyone.
If ever there were poster children for those seeking to bring attention to themselves, religious extremists take the proverbial cake.

The image of christianity:
I install satelite systems for TV. I did an install for a catholic bishop. A short fat greasy man.
Catholics have an option to buy their way into heaven (really !) So one little old lady gave the bishop 1000, he bought a big TV for his private residence. Another old lady also gave him a 1000, with this he bought all the satelite gear. After i had installed the equipment, i showed him how to use it. When i had finished he asked me (picture if you will 5 foot six, 200lbs, fat sweaty slimy toad) "can i get the adult channels on this?".
Your spiritual guide to the life before heaven is sat there every night masturbating wildly to teenagers getting it up the ****...
Christianity......total hipocracy

It makes me little difference, but these people are just so full of themselves, they are not Christians, by definition..or are very big sinners, at least. Christianity and Islam seem to generate many fanatics in their ranks. I think that as the fanatics are loud and obnoxious, they give the entire religion a very bad name, regardless of their intent. Islam is of the same ilk. Good luck

Alot of times they just make people laugh or do more harm than good. I'm sure they mean well, but I don't know of any positive instances with it offhand. I hope I'm wrong though.
