If you're asking about cats in cars - most cats don't do as well as dogs when riding in a vehicle. As to one pet being better than another - I think it's as much a question of the owner's personality as anything; the important thing is to get the type of animal that you like, and for which you are willing to care and be responsible.

I wouldn't say that one is better than the other. It depends on the person. Cats are more independent. You can leave a cat alone for the full day with water and food and a litter box, and the cat will be just fine. A dog on the other hand will have to be cared for on a contiuous basis. A dog is like having a child. They have to be be fed, given lots of attention, and walked everyday. Dogs require attention, cats like attention when they want it. I love and have both. But my dog is like having a second child. My cats are very loving, but they do their own thing.

the statistics are that around 50% of the people in the USA like dogs and 50% of the people like cats.
Each (a cat and a dog) do different things, lead different lifestyles, eat different food, etc. But you need to be a responsible owner for whichever pet you choose. I've had
6 cats over the years, they were all indoor pets and lived from 14-18 years each. These days indoor cats cost "about" $1,000 or more the first year (which is for spaying/neutering, 3 sets of baby shots plus rabies shot and the vet appointment for their checkup, flea collars or "frontline", home foggers, rent, food, sand, tags, and maybe declawing, and getting them get the ID ). 2nd year and onward it's about $465 a year until they grow old and have health problems and then of course it costs more per year. If you go on vacation then family can watch them in the home.
Dogs, of course, are more expensive, have to be walked twice a day and they have to be kenneled or taken to family when you are on vacation.

Need more info to give a better response. But here goes anyway:
It depends on the animal and how young you get them used to cars. On the majority that I have seen, Dogs enjoy car rides more than cats do. Just think how many Dogs you see in vehicles with their heads stuck out the window, or just standing in the back seat. Now... how many cats have you seen?
My cat hates car rides, but on the flip side, my mom's two cats love them! They sit on the seat behind your neck and look out the windows, whereas my cat won't shut up and cries constantly.

Car cats are the best because they stay in the car.
House cats are good because they stay in the owners house.
Neighbor cats are the worse because they use your yard as a sand box.
Cats are for lazy people who don't want to care for(clean up after) a real pet

I don't think one is better than the other. Dogs and cats both have their pros and cons. I can't wait until I can have both:)
