26 So the LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”
27 Then Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: 28 Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?”
So He said, “If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.”

Well there you go then, according to these verses, 'God' can be reasoned with.

Can you reason with the tooth fairy? With the jolly green giant? or any other fantasy figure?

God is an article of faith. Believe what you will.

However consider - Why did he only appear to the unintelligent in the old testament? Why were all these mighty deeds and the miracles attributed to Jesus all stop in the dark ages? Does God, if he exists, not care a fig anymore for the people he is supposed to have created?

Given the terrible wars and loss of life in the twentieth century one can only assume that the Roman God of war was far more merciful and munificent than the so called God of the Christians!!!

This is not a case of God making wrong judgments (which he cannot do, because all his ways are justice (Deuteronomy 32:4).

This is a case of Abraham RESPECTIVELY seeking to understand what God proposed to do (and God's patience in explaining it to Abraham). It was pointing to the fact that there was only one faithful man there (with his family). Even Lot's sons-in-law to be chose not to abandon the city despite warnings.

It also showed God's love in that he did not just TELL Lot to leave, but the angels actually took them by the hand and led them out.

There is another case that you should consider - the case of Nineveh - a very wicked city, that Jonah was sent to, in order to tell them that if they did not straighten their ways, then they would be destroyed. The WHOLE city repented and stopped their sinful course. So, God did not destroy them.

Someone could have said that God realized he was wrong and changed his mind. But, that is not what happened. The city changed and so God kept with his word in that he would destroy it only because of their wicked course.

(Read the book of Jonah for that account)

Yes, God can be reasoned to within your standards. God will judge you based on your own standards. God does not make mistakes in Judgement because He knowest all of our acceptable standards. The reason why He allows Abraham to 'Bargain' with Him is because He knows that Sodom does not even have 10 righteous man so to convince Abraham that the town is full of sinful people. Abraham does not want Sodom to be destroyed because Lot was in the town until God promises Lot's safety.

Well given what I have read I'd say yes God can make errors in judgment. Reasoned with? Perhaps some but I wouldn't call a God that has made some of the mandates he has reasonable.

Sure God can be reasonable:
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. (Isaiah 1:18-20)

The Creator is say, 'be reasonable, see it My way'. He made us and he can throw us in the trash heap we generally call hell. Don't believe him? Hang around a while, we all die and will find out then whether dissing God is hot or cool.

I find you to be an antagonistic, sadistic, narrow minded person that pose these questions to amuse yourself or the ones standing behind you, at your computer. Your questions have no value and your constant jabs at religion and Christians in general are becoming tiresome and irritating to all in here. Why not grow up and make something of yourself rather than continue to be an a$$hole as usual? And if you are grown up,why not act your age instead of your shoe size?

If the God of the universe made mistakes He wouldn't be perfect (sinless) which would contradict the Word of God. God listens to our pleas and cares for us...that is also scriptural. Yet, God is sovereign...He is in control of all things and ultimately His plan...His will is what is done.
