your first thing is try and think of it as not dieting but making healthy eating choices... no one likes to say they are on a diet and that makes a huge difference....

Make sure your calorie intake is less than the amount of calories you burn.... 500 calories a day equals 3500 calories which equals 1 lb.

Try eating a lot of vegetables and cut back on your sugar and senseless carbs...

at least 2 liters of water a day... fill a 2 litre bottle with water and use that to measure it... just fill it and then take your water from that when you are thirsty..lol you can pour it into a seperate glass...

And remember muscle weighs more so go by how your clothes are fitting... it can be very discouraging not seeing a change on the scale...

Take your measurements and check them every two weeks... every mm, cm, inch whatever helps...

GOOD LUCk

I know people don't agree with this, but I did the Atkins diet and it worked. Ever since I've done the Atkins eating plan, I find that whenever I put on weight, I can lose it straight away if I eat healthy. You obviously need to exercise as well. By the way, I didn't do it strictly, but did follow it. It took three months to actually lose it and then the weight kept falling off. You have to be careful though, just like with anything. Don't become too obsessed. Good luck. Hope it helps.

Hi, I am rubbish at sticking to diets but I have lost nearly 4 stone since last year...my husbands collegue told him about the Cambridge diet...I tried it but only lasted 2 days as it is milkshakes and soups only. Then I created my own diet and have lost all this weight. So I was not starving myself I had a Cambridge milkshake for breakfast, 2 pieces of toast for lunch then a for the 1st week a bowl of special k for dinner...I drank 8 glasses of water throughout the day too. Week to I did the same except I exchanged the special k for a sensible meal with vegetables everynight. I have kept this up....eating no junk food in between and drinking loads of water and I have lost nearly 4 stone xx

The best diet I have come across as well as excercising is this:

Only eat what occurs naturally and has minimal processing.

What I mean by this is a chicken breast is available naturally and has little processing so is fine, so is fruit n veg. However a black forest gateau or coca cola is highly processed so steer clear.

The processed less is best!! Believe me this diet takes it off and keeps it off. Smoothies and water, white meat and you'll be a tight package in 4 weeks.

You could do some sorts of sport, yet if you do too much sport (like fitness or so) you will gain weight (mussles, so that is a good thing).

Regarding what you need to eat: don't eat less.
Just eat healthier and less greasy stuff...
Less snacks (or very healty snacks).

And drink water or something and no suger containing stuff. That might also help.

Try a vegetarian diet.
It's healthier, cheaper, better for the environment, and makes you feel so much better. You are sure to lose weight then, as long as you avoid pre-packaged food, and food contaioning unnatural flavourings and colourings, and especially MSG

It does require a lifestyle change. Start with changing your eating habits. Go for low-fat foods when you can. Have an apple instead of a candy bar or chips. Eat 5 or 6 small meals instead of 2 or 3 large ones. Exercise more.

Always have vegetables on hand. Saute a big bag involving frozen mixed vegetables in extra virgin olive oil and garlic. Add some red pepper or maybe turmeric for additional flavor in addition to separate into portion-sized containers to the fridge.
