Jim,
Look at people in the world then as today. They don't believe in God, or worse they don't want to take the time to really study the question. They will attach themselves to Ideas that take a much more outlandish leap of faith to believe, just to deny the very existance of the creator. He sends his Son and he says "Hey lets all get along and love one another the way we were intended to. And for that crime they nailed him to a tree. Worse yet, just looking around this forum board, not only do people deny God, they Mock even the Idea of God. Just take a look at some of the avatars here on Answers.

Why do you ask such questions? You claim to be an Agnostic, Who doesn't want his Athiest friends to think that he might entertain the Idea of a "God". Yet you read the Bible more than most self proclaimed Christians. Do you have any understanding in what you read. Or is it all just a joke to you.

I understand the confusion, God save us from the corruption that many Christians inject into the faith, But if you seek with an open mind you will find the Truth. Do not use the Braying of Asses to condemn the Truth when you see it.

To answer your question. Wouldn't you be sad if your children rejected you as well.

No. Genesis 6:6 refers to how God felt because He could see that mankind was getting more and more violent and sinful. Just after this reference He decided to bring on the Flood.

I don't think He sees us as a mistake, just a HUGE disappointment. When a couple finds out that they are going to have a baby they experience all different kinds of emotions. It's an exciting new experience, they can't wait to see it and hold it, to watch it grow and laugh and play. They want to hold their baby all the time and just stare at it and love it. Then that baby grows up and learns how to say 'no', and learns how to hurt it's parents and sometimes tells it's parents to 'go to hell'. Those parents still love that child and doesn't regret having that child but it deeply hurt and doesn't understand what went wrong. I see our relationship with God like this. He loves us and always will no matter what we do or say but He is hurt when we sin or don't believe that He didn't create us.

Read the first creation Genesis 1, it is the spiritual creation not the allegory for man. Also if you look at the entire rest of the Bible you will find out just how much God so loved man, that he sent his only begotten son to save them. Also, read books: Isaiah, Proverbs, Psalms all other new testament. You will never doubt Gods love for man. For God is man's substance, Life, all in All.

Sounds like a little projection there by the author/translator of that particular piece of manuscript. Sounds like a parent being sorry his child was born when the child goes off on his own and defies the parent.--a very human viewpoint. Is a Deity subject to human feelings?

I assume this was a verse among the Garden of Eden tomes.

Your questions are usually pretty good there pal. They get my grey matter popping.

I think he was Jim. Evolutionary scientists often point out that many animals such as squid don't have a blindspot, it's a flaw in humans that has never been "fixed"by evolution. A creator would never have made our eyes the way they are, except by accident, hence the grieving.

No, He was sorry, because we grieved him, but He purposefully made us! It was not a mistake. Start at Genesis 1:1!

No, God maded Humans in his image, how could God make a mistake, anything God does is for a reason. He was sad because all the world was siinning, not because he made a mistake. If you read the rest of it it is when Noah made the ark and God flooded the world for their sinfulness.

You asked this question already once upon a time ;) But I believe that He didn't, that He doesn't make mistakes. He was sad because He already knew the way we humans were going to mess things up so badly :)

If you had gone on a verse of two, you would have seen that this was when He turned to Noah. The ark and the flood that destroyed everything on earth except for those on the ark and two of each kind of animal on earth.
