I got a optimazer program on my computer and it has a remover to remove duplicate files >Now my question is can I remove the dupes and do no harm to my computer or what. And there are colors what are they for? Are they some sort of file separter or what?

you can or you cant bcoz there are so many file in window which is available in window folder adn system32 foldr which has different functionality altogether. so take care when you remove duplicte files.

Most duplicate file finders ignore the windows folder altogether. They search for duplicates in other areas. You can run the program and it will find the duplicates but won't delete anything without your permission. This way you can see what it does without risk
