What about a red top with a black skirt and red shoes?

Worry more about the cut and style of the outfit. Most any color can be acceptable at a wedding. Times have changed, so colors like red, black, and gray that used to be "bad" for weddings, are fine now.

As long as the outfit is more conservative, then you are probably fine. You should be respectful of the day, and the bride's feelings. Going flashy at a wedding can look trashy.

The top should cover you, not be a tube or cropped top. It should flatter your figure without being too tight or too skimpy. If it's a halter or spaghetti strap, try to find a jacket or wrap to throw over it.

The skirt should fall just above the knee or longer. A mid thigh or mini skirt is inappropriate. It also should not be skin tight, or sit very low on your hips.

The shoes should not be platforms, stilettos, or patent leather. They should be flat leather or a fabric, nothing shiny or flashy since it's a bold color to begin with.

Remember that this isn't your day to shine, so you need to look at the outfit to determine if it's something you would wear to church or dinner with your grandparents. Hopefully, this isn't sexy club wear type clothing. The attention will be on the bride, so most people won't be looking at you or your clothing. Don't try to get the attention, and think about how you would want guests to look if it was your wedding day.

Red would be terrible and tacky. Even just a red top. While white is the number one no-no, anything red is very close, unless it's a Christmas themed wedding. Very dark red might be fine, but anything else would be really really declasse. I'm not sure if the other people are trying to lead you astray or are just uninformed, but please, no red. All focus should be on the bride and red tends to attract attention. And people, including the bride, *will* notice and talk about it.

I don't think wearing red at a wedding is appropriate unless your a bride's maid and that's the color the bride chose. I feel your dress would take some attention away from the bride. Unless that is your goal. I think muted tones are best for wedding guests, unless the bride specifies that bright and vibrant colors are requested of the guests to wear. Again, weddings are about the couple being married. That's just my opinon.

I guess you got the message, go for a dark red? How about pairing it with a brown skirt? Might fit better into the fall colors. Have fun & drink lots of booze!

Maroon, Burgandy, any deeper, darker red would be nice - like the color of an autumn leaf. Probably best to stay away from a hot, scorching sports car red, though...too showy for a wedding & the season.

A deep red would be beautiful. However, I would skip the black and go for a deep, rich brown. Red and brown are two of the top fall colors, and are gorgeous!

Red is supposed to be the color of love. Therefore it's the perfect color to wear to a wedding. And red is one of the top colors for fall... So I would say go for it. You'll look great!

Very appropriate! It's fall, so red is in! I would choose a dark red, nothing bright, you don't attention on you instead of the bride. :)

Only a dark red and only in a modest dress. Remember we would never want to divert attention away from the bride... it's her day. Best wishes

anything but bright red is fine..just keep in mind that if you are a very beautiful woman, you do not want to take away any attention from the bride.
