According to this scripture, only those who constantly do good--by faith--know the difference between right and wrong.

Hebrews 5:14

But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Ecclesiastes 5:1

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.

Yes, I can distinguish right from wrong. When one becomes saved through Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit dwells within you and guides you along the way.

Neither of these quotes mean only the good know the difference between right and wrong, but I can see why you think that.
The first means this:
The more often people make good choices, the easier it becomes (they have trained themselves) and the better they feel inside (solid food). When it says mature, it doesn't mean only older people can do this. It means recognising the effect your actions and choices have on others.
The second tells us not to try and get in God's good book (excuse the pun) by blaming others. When someone is telling you about God, listen and think about what you do, don't immediately think, "Yeah, that's them that is - I know who does that." Go near and listen - and think.
As for knowing right from wrong - follow the voice inside you that says - you know that's not right. The only people who don't have we call mentally ill (psychopaths, sociopaths) or evil. Either way it's not a bad idea to get practising at doing good things if we get good soul food at the end of it - i'm starving!!!!

Yes i believe you can distinquished right from wrong just as you can distinguish white from black but how much distincion you can make depends on the following:

First is parenting .parents are the first to teach you what they believe is right or wrong.A father who lost badly to gambling may tell his boy gambling is wrong while another father who made quick gains through gambling may tell his boy gambling is right.

Next is your society and culture. The way a typical African will view child training may differ from how an American will. The African may say send the lad to hawk in the streets to augment the family finance while someone from the western world will say send the child to school at all cost.

next and very decisive is the issue of religion and believe. What religious sect you get involve in will determine what you consider right or wrong. To some religion especially in christianity, monogamy is right while another let say islam may say otherwise.

Your personal experience too in life can mould you to conclude what is right or wrong.Even if the whole world says smooking cirgarrete is ok someone who have suffered cancer as a result of cigar maight conclude otherwise.

As a christian however, i beleive the life of Jesus Christ is just the sufficient standard for distinquishing right from wrong. Christianity is not about some religouse dogma. its about an examplified life that a man lived in the flesh. Every honest person (even the atheist) will agree that what Jesus of the bible says is right remained right and what he said was wrong can always be proved as wrong now or later. To understand this, one need the Holy Spirit who has the principal job of teaching us to descern bewteen good and evil.

To me, what is right is what gives God almighty glory because it agrees with his word(the bible), it is what will profit the person involve but also for the common good of humanity.

From their fruits you shall know who is right and who is wrong.
Galatians 16-26 tells us about the fruit of body, and the fruit of the Spirit.

16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. 19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Yes you do. We are all given consicious for distinguishing right from wrong. No matter what religion are you from, from the Bible, to the Koran, to the Talmund, to the Confucius Analect, to the Eight Noble Path of Buddhism, etc we all know that sins are wrong. Definitely someone sets the rules within us so that we know what is right and what is wrong.

relaxing attempt: once you're in a set of believers, bypass round and ask what their opinion is about right here matters: -gay marriage -warfare -euthanasia -abortion -capitol punishment See if there is any type of unanimous opinion contained in the crew. distinctly a lot any moral problem that we warfare with as society is in basic terms as divisive and troublesome between those who believe that they have got some type of window into purpose, absolute morality by scripture and/or some type of relationship with God. no matter if or not they imagine they are in a extra appropriate position, they are quite interior an similar boat as some thing else human beings. the premise of morality is organic. we may be able to work out behaviors in different animals that exhibit altruism, problem for the suffering of others, concerns about recognition, and so on. upload to that skill to apply reason and adventure to demonstrate screen both the fast and lengthy time period consequences of our moves, and some distinctly better moral structures will be advanced. the truth that there is no authority figure to advantages or punish us for failing to stay as a lot as an ethical wide-spread ought to no longer count number to someone who fairly cares about the ends up of their moves in the present day and contained in the destiny.

a person can distinguish right from wrong because of.... due to... their upbringing. HOWEVER.. Now-a-days... this has changed because many parents are not good parents and they themselves do not know the difference and so when they do not know the difference, it is hard for the kids to know except what they might learn from their peers

I do, because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Other people say that their conscience ( good word, if you break it down; like assume) is their guide. I would like to believe that all sane people have some concept of "right and wrong".

Isaiah 48:17 "Thus saith the LORD, thy Redemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." (KJV)

So, God teaches us to benefit ourselves, if we would only listen and apply.

Sort of like the car manufacturer gives us a manual to help us maintain and properly use the vehicle - since "he" made it, "he" would know how it was designed to be used.

If we abuse the vehicle, then we can only blame ourselves.

Anyone who has the faculty of conscience will make distinctions between right and wrong. Unfortunately, the major monotheistic religions tell us that we cannot use our consciences, but instead must bow to whatever they say are the orders of a deity - i.e. those religions are amoral.
