There can be social and economic ramifications to showing disrespect for something others believe in, but that's part of living in a diverse society. A little tolerance and respect for differences of opinion and perspective solves that in most cases. Ultimately, the quality of our lives depends upon what we dedicate ourselves to more than what we stand against. I'm a Humanist because I believe humanity, for all its flaws and foolishness, has great potential for benevolence and progress. It is certainly possible to live a moral, useful, fulfilling life without superstition, and, when we work together, humans are capable of truly remarkable things.

No, not really. I mean, if your boss is a rabid Christian and you tell him you are an atheist, he might make your life difficult...but then you can sue, so it balances out. On the positive side, if you disbelieve in god and religion, your life gets a whole lot easier. You have a lot more freedom and you don't have to worry about pissing off a being who can unmake you with a thought. I've been an atheist my whole life, though I only stopped pretending to be a christian about 10 years ago. I've never been happier or more at peace with myself. The only thing that has really changed is that I am no longer guilt ridden when I do something that doesn't fit in with what people think christians should do.
That said, I don't think you should disrespect other people's beliefs. I catch a lot of flak for not believing in god, and I try not to hurt other people that way. Live and let live and you will be a lot happier.

So that isn't enough...my. disrespecting God well you have to contend with that, it could be your self-punishing for that deed, disbelieving, is something that soon or later we all will come into line with. As for disrespecting religoin...heck...those come and go and thus, I don't think it will make a big difference as long as you believe and accept the word of God and the teachings of Christ. Remember, Jesus did not set up a religion, he was a Jew by birth and teaching.
The most serious consequences is that of self-punishment and the fact that you will come to God just might take you a long time and some really bad experiences in the course of eternity.

There are consequences for not living the way he tells us to such as : AIDS, imprisonment, Accidents by drinking, unsuccessful marraige ect. but just because your not religious doesn't mean you'll have these problems, but they are more probable for certain lifestyles. Don't twist this into meaning that all people with these problems disrepect God and religion. If you think believers are just out there to hate on unbeleivers, I apologize for them. We are no better than any one of you unbeleivers, but Jesus was better than all of us, and I would hope that beleivers have the attitude of a beggar showing another beggar where they found bread, rather than crusaders, killing all you don't repent

Would you want to experience other consequences? I think being killed or verbally abused or living in hell is enough.
Noone of any religion has the right to kill people that will not follow their religion. That is against all religions and these murderers are hypocritical.

Revelation 20:14&15
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The people in the lambs book of life are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior.
John 3:16-For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I would say religious fanatics whom you don't go along with are of the most immediate concern.
Anything else can be put off till next Tuesday or later.

What could be more serious than your soul burning in hell for ETERNITY?!! Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and rose again by the power of God on the third day. Turn to Christ now and ask him to forgive you of all your sins. He is waiting for you to put your trust in Him, and he will make you born again! JESUS LOVES YOU!!
