I have been friends with this girl for eight years, but I have only gotten close to her in the last four months. When I mention an interest in something, she tends to find ways of becoming my partner in that interest. She gave her phone number the other night, and she told me to call only her if I am trying to reach her family. She said she doesn't know her home number. What??? And her brother and sister don't carry their phones everywhere. She was also REALLY excited to see me the other night. She loudly pronounced my name to get my attention from twenty feet away, and she smiled upon seeing me. Should I ask this girl out or something? I am kinda starting to like her. How strange!

Sure, ask her out. The best relationships start out as friends.

well hon i think you need to ask her! "asking questions is a good way of finding something out" you seem young and so does she, take it slow ask her out yes, but only if you mean it, that is only if you really want to be friends, and if you aren't interested in anything more please don't lead her on and then hurt her feelings. i think that you should find somewhere where the both of you can talk with out your friends interrupting, not some place dark and lonely but, like a park or somewhere you will get a chance to TALK so you can know where she stands so you don't get hurt either. anyhow all the best.

This girl sounds very dishonest to me. If I were you, find out the truth about what's going on. See if she cares for you and then share your feelings with her. I would just hold back until she starts being more honest.

for starters, she definately likes you, and if you like her too, why not ask her out? she is probably waiting forr you to ask her out, so if you really like her, then ask her out,
simple as that,
if you have been friends for quite a time, then you already know each other well, so it has a good chance of working out
hope that helped

It appears that she is trying to send you messages without being to forward. You should ask her out.
