Anything can be a blessing. This morning when I woke up my husband had left the coffee pot on so I had nice hot coffee without having to make it, that was a blessing... not to mention awaking to a nice home and all the other things that come with having a wonderful man working everyday to provide for me. I think there are so many blessings every moment if we could just see them as blessings we would be so much better off. As I'm falling asleep I try to recall all of the blessings from the day. From my husband and my sons to our health to our home to the food and other things we have and anything extra special that I can recall. Whenever I'm on a trip I try to pray for people with car troubles and be gratefull for our blessings as the trip goes on. For me anything can be a blessing and often our misfourtunes are simply blessings in disguise. Once I felt so terribly for having miscarried and then of course became pregnant again and now have a beautiful 10 month old whom I couldn't imagine life without. I know that was a case where my wants (for that baby) weren't right for me and now I can see that the blessing was not my being pregnant but perhaps my actually losing that specific pregnancy so that I have the child I have now. I could go on all day on this subject as I posted a question about "ordinary miracles" (things like your coffee being made for you) and got alot of responses saying there is no such thing as an ordinary miracle, but I beg to differ. I know that all good things come from God ( Tobit 4;19. Bless the Lord thy God alway, and desire of him that thy ways may be directed, and that all thy paths and counsels may prosper: for every nation hath not counsel; but the Lord himself giveth all good things, and he humbleth whom he will, as he will; now therefore, my son, remember my commandments, neither let them be put out of thy mind.) so I must consider them miracles as well as blessings. Best wishes

A blessing is something that is earned. God would bless the nation of Israel when they obey his commands. He blessed Job, David, Solomon, Abraham and many others when they obeyed his commands. So it shouldn't be any different in our day. If you are living how God wants you to and you are following in Jesus' footsteps, then a blessing is entitled to you. Sneezing does not grant a blessing. When you sneeze, and someone says bless you, that tradition has pagan roots. It is believed that when you sneeze, you are letting out evil spirits, and now God should bless you. This teaching has no biblical roots what soever.
So in conclusion, blessings are earned not given Willy nilly without regard to reason. Gods blessing are sacred , not some fad or tradition.

My son. God blessed me with a healthy and loving boy when I was 38 years old. He sent him to me at just the right time of my life. I thank Him everyday for that blessing.

To me it is an old expression taken on by christians to mean " be thanful of what you have".
It used to mean the gods have smiled upon you,
Blesing means you have been chosen or by accident have valuables either in material value of spiritual value by the grace of your creator.

Blessings = absolute unexpected gifts from God regardless of form, for I am worthy of none of them, yet He loves me enough to bestow them upon my life!
And you?

This is people using "holier than thou" language which they think is making them appear to be what they're not.
In modern language it just means "happy" or "contented". There's nothing spiritual about it at all.
