I think it's a great accomplishment, however, it ain't over...I think continued diligence will be necessary to keep the terrorists at bay. I think Bush has accomplished more in the last 6 years than anyone could have ever imagined. I won't list all the things that I see as accomplishments. Maybe I'm biased, but I think 30-40 years from now, the nay-sayers will look back and if they're honest, they will have to admit that Bush did remarkable things.

If this isn't one of the most naive questions, I've seen. Unbelievable. Read some detailed analysis of what terrorism is, how it is conducted and the length of time it takes most counter-insurgency programs to succeed. I believe that the British in Malaysia in the 1950's took 9 years. Even after WW2, there were Nazi't that still committed terrorist acts in West Germany for many years after the war. If Al Qaida has a chance, they definitely will attack us here in the mainland USA. Go pick up a book, would ya and learn something.

No we have not won, you can't WIN something until its over and there are still too many terrorist and terrorist organizations which would love to kill Americans. Until that happens this war will continue and we will not be able to claim victory until then. How long will that take? It may take one or more generations or it may be over in 5 to 10 years, there is no way to tell.
And it's not just militarily that we are fighting this war. It is a war of ideals, of ways of life, of economics, of politics, of media, of the internet, to put it mildly this is a war being fought at every level and part of our society against a way of thinking and believing that is completely in opposition to all that we believe and hold dear.

Well I'd say that every day that goes by that we're not attacked is one step closer to winning. The fact of the matter is it's going to be a long hard fight because the people that we're fighting are taught from birth that WE are the enemy of their god and nothing seems to weaken their resolve on that matter. We are in fact getting closer to the answers that we need but we receive opposition from both countries outside the US(thanks France we saved your @ss twice) and people disputing further security measures stating that they're unconsitutional.I'm willing to give up much of the freedoms that others take for granted to be safe and win.Go ahead, tap my phone, take my picture and monitor my spending.I have nothing to hide.We will win. There is no doubt in my mind.

We all know the United States has far from won. There are many extremist groups still out there, and until they are rounded up, no struggle against terrorism can be considered over. Not being attacked on one's own soil for five years is not a good criterion for winning by any means.

just because we have not been attacked in 5 years does not mean the terrorists are going to give up. even if iraq becomes stable, what about afghanistan? the taliban are growing stronger day by day and by the pakistani border where the pakistani president gave the taliban a place to stay without the hassle of soldiers patroling the area. it seems to me that they are probably planning a huge attack and do not want any flaws in this one. has the US won? the war has just begun...

It's time the real criminals were exposed. You want them brought to justice? Then realize that it was an inside job, aproved by the Bush administration.
15 out of 19 were supposedly Saudi Arabian. We never bombed Saudi Arabia.
7 of the supposed terrorists turned up alive and well.
No remnents of a plane was found at the Pentagon. It was actually hit by a Tomahawk Cruze Missle, from an American Helicopter.
The two towers, and bulding 7 were perfect controlled demolitions. Bulding 7 was never even hit, but it collapsed anyway.
Scientists confirm that no planes could take down such large buldings all the way to the ground.
Just a few days before the attack, the owner of the world trade center took out a record insurance policy specifically for terrorist attacks. There were also record put options put on American Airlines stock (a put option is a bet that the stock will fall).
Firemen and police were claiming that prior to the collapse of the buldings, explosions were going off all around them.
Bin Laden is a CIA operative.
911 was the biggest cover-up in American History.
The difference between a Republican and a Democrat.
A democrat will wrap himself up in the constitution and burn the flag.
A republican will wrap himself up in the flag and burn the constution.
Bring Bush and his fellow murders to justice!
Over 3000 American Soldiers dead, due to an unjustified war.
Over 3000 Americans dead from his attacks on the World Trade Center.
The Mass Media is owned and controlled by 6 corporations, Bush is their puppet.
Wake up people!

You will be experiencing the danger for the rest of your life. Even if you are 10 years old right now.
Even if you are not in the US.
9/11/2001 was not the birthday of terrorism. It was born long before you were born.

Bound's hubby here:
Freedom is never free... there is always a price. Forget time lines and time limits. As long as there is not a terrorist act on American soil and Americans can sleep at night and there are troops willing to walk the wall to keep us safe at night then we are winning to war on terrorism. A unified determination to support our troops adds to this freedom. So, yes, the war can be won as long as we have people willing to pay the price to keep us free.
