I have been struggling with food addiction for about the last 10 years. It's only recently that I have accepted that I have a problem. I believe food addiction is as real as alcholism or drug abuse.
Anyway, during the last few years, I have gained about 115 pounds. Thank God I don't have any serious health problems yet, but if I don't do something soon to get this weight off, I will. I have trouble eating right because of my hectic schedule - no time to cook, I have to eat on the run alot. Any suggestions about how to break a serious food addiction and ways to eat healthier with a crazy schedule would be greatly appreciated.

First see a medical doctor and get a complete checkup to see if your thyroid is normal or if there is some other underlying problem. Some people eat out of boredom or depression. Then join a gym and start working out, it helps if you have a friend or and a personal workout advisor. Additionally, check out weight watcher's or Jenny Craig. Fast food is usually full of calories, so chose foods that are low in calories like salads, etc. God bless.

I commend you for admitting that you do have a problem. I also deal with food addiction but I binge and perg. But I ended up with the health problems. I found a support group that really helps. Just like alcholism you live with it on a day to day to day thing. Find you a support group. It will help. As for as eating health, it is a must even on the moth hectic day. God luck I wish you the best!

From my readings about insulin imbalances and blood sugar disorders, I suggest you check out www.hufa.org - the article entitled low blood sugar. You can find it by clicking on the link that says Low Blood Sugar on the front page, or the link in the "symptoms" page.
I have come to believe that addictions, compulsions, obsessions of all types may have their causes in imbalanced blood sugar, because of the brain's demand for a certain level of nourishment at all times.
I know low blood sugar was the likely cause of my weight gain. Now, with a diet that controls Candida and sugar, I have lost almost 30 pounds from my all time top weight. Losing weight is very hard if your body is fighting against you, to gain weight.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

I dont think your addicted to food< I just think you like to eat and thats ok, if you were not eating only then would i call it a problem, but to convince yourself you got a problem can be a problem within itself. It has never worked b4 and it is not going to work now, if you eat a 3 course meal and dont attempt to starve yourself your body will mold to your eating habit but if your disrupt that curve you will eat more. ( It is time to step out of the box and love and accept yourself for who/what you are.)

Addiction to food follows the same course as addiction to drugs and alcohol - it leads to ill health and death. In the case of food addiction the doctors and scientists say that obese children of today will die before their parents which means twenty to thirty years early! In essence what they are saying is that food addiction is 100% fatal!!!
Your choice!!

Sounds more like compulsive overeating than a food addiction. You need professional help!! Eating disorders are VERY difficult to conquer alone!

Never buy in bulk. If you want candy, get one candy bar, not the 2 lb bag.
