Get out of junior high, there's no such thing as ink poisoning with the vast majority of commercial inks in pens, markers, and tattoo inks. Read; NON-TOXIC.

The risk of infection or possible exposure to such things as hepatitis would be enough for me to put it off 9 months. I have my fair share of ink with no issues from being inked.

Actually What to Expect When your expecting sent this to me today...nice coincidence.
Thinking of commemorating your pregnancy by getting a tattoo? Think again. While the ink itself won't enter your bloodstream, there is a risk of infection any time you get stuck with a needle. Not a good risk to take when you're trying to stay healthy for two. Plus, a new tattoo that looks symmetrical on your pregnant skin might become lopsided or distorted after you regain your prepregnancy shape. If you already have a tattoo, no problem — just sit back and watch it stretch! (Your bikini-line butterfly might just start soaring like an eagle!)

Why on earth would a pregnant woman want something as dumb as a tattoo... Try pickles and ice cream...

Good Lord no... do you know that if your tattoo gets infected it could harm the baby?

Now that is a personal choice, but I wouldn't. Wait until after pregnancy and see if you still want to. If you do, go for it. But for right now, just take care of yourself and your body. Good luck.

I'm sure they could, but it would be risking the health or life of the baby, not just the mother. I'm sure it could wait 9 months.

I do not think it is safe ...the person who was going to do mine would not even do it while I was pregnant with my daughter because he felt it was not safe and he is a professional

Oh yes, isn't that just a lovely idea? Get one of those loosely drawn faces on your belly, and watch it stretch as your belly grows.

Is there some reason you can't wait 9 months?
