I've done both, there are so many beautiful places in the world to visit, why not have a main holiday abroad and a short break in the uk, that way you get the best of both worlds.

It's definately cheaper to go somewhere else. I've just comeback from the States and I was surprised at how cheap everything is in compartison to the UK from hotels to food to clothing. Really worthwhile financially.

I have done both but to me it seems that to get accomodation and do things in England (like go out to dinner etc.) is more expernsive then when you go abroad, particularly places like France. Although there are some amazingly beautiful places in this country but when I have looked for places to rent in England they were crazy expensive.

Both are great. I love to go abroad, but have just spent a week in Weymouth and it was fab - I really enjoyed myself, and am considering going there next year instead of abroad. The sea is sooo blue there!!

Depends on where you live, how much you want to spend, so on. If you live in the UK and you have enough to spend, get out of there! Explore the world before you die!

a holiday is a holiday...it doesnt matter where you go!

my last holiday i went back home to edinburgh ( i usually live in dundee). as long as you get away from where you live and have fun, the holiday was worth it!
