Firstly I would NOT recommend the Necrinomicon... it is mostly very dark magick that, from what I hear has a lot to do with causing harm to others. (But I have never read it myself to be able to tell you for certain.) WHERE a good place to find them would be your local new age book store. You can look up stores in your area through http://www.witchvox.com On the right side of the page there is a side bar where you can choose what state you are from. On the page it brings you on for your state there will be a list of links on the left-hand side of the page. Chose "Shops" (or Stores, or whatever word they use) and they will have a list of stores in your area by town (in alphabetical order).
All 'regular' bookstores carry SOME books on magick including Waldenbooks, Barnes & Noble, and Borders. Another great place to check out it amazon.com!
If you want to know WHAT books to buy, I can only tell you about books that talk about witchcraft... (Wicca) here is a short list of great books:
Power of the Witch by Laurie Cabot
Spiral Dance by Starhawk
Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham
Wicca: A Further Guide of the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham
A Wiccan Bible, by AJ Drew
To Ride a Silver Broomstick, by Silver Ravenwolf
The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the Next Generation Solitary Witch, by Silver Ravenwolf
The Green Witchcraft Series by Ann Moura (Aoumiel)
A Grimoire for the Apprentice Wizard, by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart. (This book, I think, has more information about more TYPES of magick)
Hope that helps!
Blessings and Light

Read 'The Golden Bough' by James George Frazer for a complete overview of the role of magic and superstition in society. A little outdated now, but still full of esoteric interest.

Most major chain book stores carry occult related material.
I would recommend "The White Goddess" by Robert Graves and "The Golden Bough" by Sir James Frazier (sp) as starting points.
