at times when i am driving I have this sudden urge to turn the steering swiftly and plunge into a river or have a head on collision with an oncoming truck so as to get it over with, its like i'd rather die violently/quickly than to go insane

Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you have an alcohol problem. If you can turn to that to "make it go away," you should probably cut down your intake. You get to be extremely irritable about EVERYTHING, it seems like. It's leading to depression. You should go see a doctor, someone whom you trust (not just a shrink), and discuss these symptoms and see what he/she feels is the best thing for you to do. I will keep you in my prayers. Think yourself well. Tell yourself when you start feeling these things that you are better, even if you're not, you have to gain that mentality back. Love yourself and everything about you, and definitely talk to your wife...wouldn't you want to know if something might be medically wrong with her???

theres many things you can do to avoid feeling the way you do and that will help you Tremendously with all your emotions and unexplained fears and anxiety....concider the following:
meditation (i strongly recommend this) if you have never done this look up info on the internet or go buy a book on meditation & definitly buy a c.d. you can use for this.
also massage therapy's these work extremely well... to release stress, depression, and will really help you.
i stongly recommend visiting a doctor for professional help. but also keep in mind of the variety of options you have around you to help you heal your situation...
another thing i would recommend for you is to buy a book on minds ...this will help you understand the reason you feel the way you do... for example "mind boosters" basically i can say your situation might seem weird but it really is not... your experiencing the side effects of experiences you had in the past that leaded to this or chronic stress....but anyhow, you will be ok...be positive & set in your mind that you will be cured...avoid those negative thoughts that make you feel like dying because your making it worse on yourself....be very positive good luck! and hope i helped.

You need to go to your general doctor. This could be as minor as depression, or as major as a tumor. I don't mean to scare you but the reason I say you should get it looked at now is because of the "funny feeling inside my head eg itching or irritation inside my head" That can lend itself to tumors and a tumor pushing on differnet parts of the brain can affect you mood.
Best of luck

Pick up the courage, you need to see a doctor. They'll find what is wrong and give you the best treatment and refer to whatever specialist. The earlier you get treated, the better chance of having a full recovery. You have a wife and kids, they need you. Make that call to your doctor now. Good luck!

You need to see your doctor. He will keep your problem confidential. Until you know what's wrong you don't have to tell anyone. I can understand why you want to keep it hidden from your wife but I am sure she'll support you. You could have a real problem like an aneurysm. A friend of mine kept having headaches and sounds bothered him but he didn't get it taken care of and he ended up hospitalized for a long long time because of a brain aneurysm. Please go see your doctor! Good Luck to you!

I'm sorry, but I'm not a doctor. It does sound like something is going on there, though. The sooner you go to the doctor, the faster you can get better. Good luck. I hope everything is ok.

This could be a medical condition which could be cured. Please don't assume it is a mental condition, however you may need the help of psychologist to talk to. In any case, go to your medical doctor and tell him everything. He may refer you to a neurologist.
I knew someone in their 30's that had a tumor on their brain. Get medical help and talk to someone (your wife, your parents or a cclose friend). Don't assume you are going insane and by all means don't kill yourself. Your best years are ahead of you. God bbless and let us know how you are doing.

Some of those symptoms sound like depression. You should see a doctor or mental health professional, there is treatment for that.
