Please stop taking any more laxatives! What you really need to do now is just go get one or two maximum Fleet Saline Enemas. Since they are not medicines (it is only saline/ or salt water essentially) they will not put any more crazy chemicals into your body (Ex-lax & the others are fine if they work in 1-2 doses but after that it gets dangerous) Pleaase, please try the enema. I promise it is not as bad as it sounds...it doesn't hurt and works almost instantly to stimulate the "urge" feeling. Just use one first and try to hold in for 5 min if you can...if you can just get it started you will be fine, especially with all the softeners you've taken already. If you need one more, then wait about 1/2 hour and try one more. This is fast & easy and will have you going within minutes without putting any more dangerous things into your body or having to wait to see a doctor. It will not harm you nor will it make your muscles dependent upon it like some other methods either. Last resort...you can re-use one of those same Fleet bottles and fill it with pure mineral oil...NOT baby oil, it is plain mineral oil found next to the laxative stuff at the store. Use one Fleet bottle full only. It is however messy and not recommended because of that reason. I hope you will be okay. I know this will work for you, it will be uncomfortable a little, but you've GOT to get your body evacuating properly. Please NO more stimulants or softeners or fiber untill you have tried this. Good Luck. P.S. the fleets are really cheap, like $1.00 each. After you get moving you can try dietary measures to avoid this happening again, but those wont do anything now. Take Care.

My best answer to you is to call your physician immediately. If you have taken both an exlax as well as MOM and it has been over 24 hours, you may be impacted and they may be able to offer you more healthly advise. I know with my health insurance there is a health line with actual nurses who answer. If you have this, try this and if they think that it is really serious, they will have you in there by the time you finish reading this message. You said that it has been 24 hours however how long has it been before now have you moved your bowels. This is really serious. Contact the doctor/health line. I hope that everything works out for you and pray that this is nothing serious.

Drink lots of fluids and wait just a while longer. Check with the pharmacy and ask for stronger laxative, such as Ducolx. If you still don't get results in the next 24 hours or if you get severe abdominal pain, go to the doctor or the ER as you may have a bowel obstruction. Hopefully you are passing gas, and if so, you are probably ok. If not, check out a doctor.

You could have bowel blockage. You certainly need to call your physician and see if he wants to see you. You may have to take an enema which will flush out your bowels with water. Try eating some prunes and drinking some prune juice. Be sure and eat a diet high in fiber. Don't sit on the commode and strain however because this can cause hemorrhoids. Good Luck.

Firstly, a word of caution, laxatives are dangerous and should only be taken in severe cases. You can't quick fix a medical problem which need looking after on a regular basis. its like taking pain killers for appendix problems, the painkillers will only serve to make you unaware of the fact that your appendix is bursting! VERY dangerous.
you need to eat wholemeal bread only, fruit and vegetables and drink at least 2 litres of plain water every day. (minimum of 5 portions of fruit and veg (combined)
on this occasion, for a quick detox, you need to drink a cup of plain boiled water. this helps to 'loosen' your bowels. have you eaten anything? its probably wise not to starve yourself lest your stomach is empty and there is really nothing to produce in the lavatory...
if you have apples to hand, have one, and if you can boil up some plain broccoli / cauliflower with no spices or sauces (perhaps a tiny bit of salt). then eat that and drink some more water. eat a fruit immediately after (such as nectarine, plum or orange, nothing heavy like watermelon at this stage) and try going for a walk to get your circulation going. if the problem persists then you OUGHT to go to the doctor but you SHOULD NOT be taking more laxatives.

You could possibly have a restriction in there thats causing your problem. Or you could have irratable bowel syndrome. Try eating nuts more often.. High in fiber and good for you at the same time. OR, start taking a stool softner everyday, itll keep you regular and its so much easier on you. Ive been there. Hang in there, itll get better.

Water is a good idea but if you are sill not mooving by this even I'd see a urgent care facility... if you are in pain... go now -
your colon could burst if there is some sort of block... OY
recovery on that is a LOOOOOOONG time!!!!
I'd suggest an enema, but you are scaring me... see a doc.
Hope it is nothing!!!!!
But rather be safe than sorry!

Are you a girl... constipation can be associated with menstration. & talk to your mom... she may have advice!

Maybe your body is immune to the ex-lax. Drink lots of water and eat lots of fiber.

Sounds like a symptom of either Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis. Go and get checked out by a GI DOC.
