Of the people that lived in the 500 years or so between the prophet Isa(Jesus) and the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did any of them know that jesus didn't "really" die on the cross. Did Allah in anyway inform them that Jesus was taken up to him?

Not all Christians at that time accepted the story of the cross. This is in the holy Quran chapter 5.

It's strange that Mohammad believed that Jesus was the result of a virgin birth and still doesn't believe that he was devine.
If Jesus didn't die on the cross after such a beating he had to be a God.

The Romans were experts at execution. If they did the killing, you can be sure Jesus was dead. There WAS no cheating going on.
