on the positive side at least this proves you have a " bonafide marriage" for immigration purposes. on the negative side good moral character is one of the qualifying questions for green card status. you don't mention if the charges were drop by you and picked up by the state, if he has any other type of criminal record, if he can be violent to his spouse, what has he done to others, that will also reflect on his moral character. If this is his only issue then a good immigration lawyer should be able help in this situation.

A domestic violence? I'm assuming it was him versus you? or? and by filing do you mean getting him papers to be a legal citizen in America? And why you would want that for someone who does a domestic violence against you? I'm completely baffled

It wont stop the papers, but it will cause him to be denied. I suggest you hire an attorney and see if the domestic violence can be removed from the file. Otherwise, you are SOL!
