The short answer is yes.

Some of the first answers are from Christians, coming from their beliefs not their experience.

I contradict the person who says it depends on your beliefs. Whatever happens, happens regardless of your beliefs. Christians will say their teaching of heaven and hell is true for Hindus and Moslems as well as for themselves.

I know beyond doubt, from direct experiential awareness, that the soul, freed from one earth body at what we call 'death', takes a new earth form at a conception and lives in that body until its next 'death'.

The length of time betwen lives here depends on one's precise karma.

There are several concepts from several religions.

The Hindu concept is the spirit/Atma/Soul never dies. It is a part of the great Bramha. And the soul does pick up another body or takes a rebirth! There are some people who say that they can remember things of their earlier life. There are ways told in Geta through which one can feel the Brahma, the unity of all the souls, who is indifferent to every thing.

Muslims perhaps don't believe in such things.

Christians should also have some concepts about this. I think there are too many people to tell you that.

But science is not enough developed to study soul of human beings, until now. Until any thing is proved one can only tell you to believe in some thing, but can not SHOW you.

That depends on how you define spirit. Our breath is not us, but we need it to live. Biblically, we are souls and we can't exist without a body. Spirits exist if God wants them to. His spirit is the author of all spirits. We have either the spirit of God or not. It's like an influence. The spirit is not our soul. We are the souls.

When you die, you as a soul of dust will decompose in the grave, but the hope is that Christ will come and you'll resurrect and not cease to exist by fire from heaven. The spirit knew you when you were alive and the devil can easily masquerade as you when you're dead.

Scripture alludes to the spirit waiting in paradise until Christ returns in glory. Then it indicates that out of the remains of our old corrupted body a new uncorrupted body will be made for us, and then we shall reign with Christ.

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me

Acts 24:15
and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

Luke 23:43
Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

John 3:13
No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.

Romans 6:5
If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:35
But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?"

1 Corinthians 15:42
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;

Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

1 Cor 15
50I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

Ephesians 5:13-15
13But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."
15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,

When you die the spirit of your body will either go to Heaven or to Hell then after the tribulation period when life is over and you've gone to have Judgement with God and you've entered Heaven or have been cast into hell your spirit and your body will then be reunited.

The Catholic Church says that we have a soul and a spirit in us. Our soul is made in God's image and our spirit is what He breathed into our bodies. Like when He breathed life into Adam, He was breathing His spirit into Adam. When our bodies die, our spirit remains with the body until Jesus comes again. Our soul goes to Jesus and He gives us the first judgement. Our soul tells Jesus whether we accept Him as our Saviour or not. That's why we are to nurture our souls while they are in us on earth. We are to praise God and then our soul will accept Jesus at the first judgement. At the first judgement, if our soul accepts Jesus it goes to Heaven, if our soul rejects Jesus it goes to hell. Then at the 2nd coming, the final judgement, Jesus will come to earth and raise all the dead people, their bodies and spirits. The souls that are in Heaven will be reunited with their body and spirit and live in Heaven forever. The souls that are in hell will be reunited with their body and spirit and live in hell forever.

It's can be confusing and even weird sounding. If you read the Catechism of the Catholic Church you will get a better understanding of what the Catholic Church teaches. This is all biblical. Scripture tells us this.

Sure, anythings possible.
Our spirits needed a host body when we came into being, why not after we die?

The spirit is just a mental construct arising from neurological processes in the brain - once you die, no more brain activity, no more spirit. The End.

I don't believe in that. However I'm really afraid of the idea of death and that there is nothing more than life here and now.I like to believe that we fall into a deep deep sleep and our spirit flies above the world watching our loved ones.
