You should definitely eat something with protein in it, however since you run at night don't eat a huge meal or you will have trouble sleeping.

This will actually enhance what you gain by running! Your muscles need fuel to recover from a workout. So, choose something healthy like fruits or a lean protein and you will actually find yourself seeing results faster.

If you're running 3 miles more than 3 times a week, and eating healthy, you don't have to worry about gaining any weight unless it's due to increased muscles mass. You won't gain incredible amounts of muscle mass from running, but the lean, toned, long, smooth muscle will make you look great no matter how much it weighs.

A light pasta salad, or anything high in carbs but low in fat, is a very good post-exercise snack!

If you run past 9pm. your best bet is to eat nothing.
Go to your local health store buy some Whey protine mix for your water. Drink that a little before and during your run. If you chose to eat anything, Eat a pickle, you'd be suprised when you find out most pickle brands have 0 calories.

Your muscle needs to be refueled because you are using up the glycogen stores in them ... my doctor recommends a banana, .25 oz of dry roasted no salt peanuts, and 8oz of gatorade for hydration. The banana gives you nutrients and is a carb, the nuts are the protein, and the gatorade is the balanced luquid for rehydration faster than water and only 50 calories.

verify you drink sufficient water the day in the previous any work out. i individually like a PB and banana sandwich in the previous I run. You physique makes use of the food contained in the banana precise away, and then the PB is sweet for decrease back up potential. The bread is sweet because of the fact it has extreme-carbohydrate to maintain your muscle groups fueled. in case you intend on working lots, this link talks approximately "in the previous, for the duration of and after" which i presumed became extraordinarily useful.

There are a lot of recovery drinks with protein out there. Some studies have even suggested drinking chocolate milk helps with recovery. Elevating your legs helps de tox them.

Protein rich foods. Peanut butter, eggs, tuna fish, cheese, any of these will be good on whole grain bread.A glass of milk would be good with the sandwich. Of course plenty of water.
