This question is asked often on Y! A. You might want to check the archives.
Millions of Americans have emigrated: to Canada, to cheaper countries like Mexico, Costa Rica, etc. To more cultured places and places that offer free or cheap health care to all: England and other places in Europe. To Latin America and Southeast Asia where women are said to be solicitous. And anywhere where you can avoid having to be governed by George W. Bush.

Yes, some do. One good reason is if you marry someone from a different country, and you have a full time job there, and then you have children there with that passport, and then you buy property - after all this, some people want to be able to vote too. About 1/3 of the countries in the world don't allow you to have dual citizenship, but 2/3 do, to some degree - so people who do this aren't treasonous - but add a citizienship for various reasons.

I love the States, but my husbands mother just had an brain aneurysm. She can't talk or live on her own. So we're going to England for a couple of years to help her out. I like the town we're moving to, and the people are nice. So I should get on just fine.
I would rather stay here, though. America is a beautiful place to live; and from what I see on Y!A, they're having similar immigration disputes there....... I'll just be one of the immigrants instead of native

Yea I would like to emigrate to Mexico! While I am there I will be illegal, milk the health care system (or lack there of) and break their laws. I will take as many jobs as possible and I might even have kids and let them go to school without it costing me a cent! If you think I am paying taxes than your crazy, all my employment is under the table and I will never work on getting my citizenship. I will march in the streets of Mexico City with a American flag and protest the fact that I am illegal.
After having kids I will hide out in their local churches and gain sympathy from the local public. I will use my child as a tool to remain there and hopefully get my citizenship that way. It will cost me nothing because the Mexican Tax Payers will take care of it for me.

The US belongs to the Native Americans (who you call Indians). Its there country, but now the whites have taken over. So if other people want to immigrate to the US, its the Natives that should have the say, no the white people. After all, it has always been there country. But guess what, its a small minority of white people that object to immigration. REMEMBER, OUR ANCESTORS WERE IMMIGRANTS TOO.

Of course there are and for many reasons. Some fall in love with people from other nations. Some are Jewish people who want to make Israel their home. And, I'm sure, there are even a few who don't like it here.

I'd like to emigrate to a country that defends the interests of it's citizens before it's businesses. I'd like to emigrate to a country that defended it's border. While I'm wishful thinking, I'd like to move to a country where English is the dominant language.

I don't, but I am sure there are some who have been brain washed (hard to do, since they don't have a brain) into believe that the terrorist are "saints" and wish to join them. I think they ought to set up a training camp for suicide bombers. Of course, they would have to set themselves off to pass - BEFORE going out into the civilized world.

Not me. I live in the greatest country in the world and I'll defend it for the rest of my life.
Our freedom is what makes us great. Just ask the people who make risky journeys over sea and land to come here.

Not me. As bad as the media makes it out to be, its better than anywhere else. Someday the rest of the citizens will realize that fact as well.
