we're afraid because we know we will stand before GOD to be judged prior to receiving our one way ticket into our final destination. hmm let's see. We'll be called from our graves, we'll receive our book of deeds, we'll read from our book of deeds, we'll see all kinds of scary things, then we stand before our creator with no one to help us. All actions will be accounted for, all injustices will be judged, ALL will be judged and NO ONE TO HELP YOU. everyone is going to be on his OWN. Now let's see..what kind of feeling am I going to have about a place I've never seen before but know for a fact that it's a place where I can't run, I can't hide and I can't escape. That's why we fear death. It's not the "death" that is the scary part. It's the "next level of life" that's scary. We simply don't know what's going to happen nor where we will end up.

That has no longer some thing to do with being petrified of lack of existence. It has to do with loving existence and wanting to stay on earth longer to protect your family individuals, love your individuals, and spread the Gospel. I force a motorbike. i became crossing the line at a 4-way intersection with site visitors lights 2 days in the past. I had eco-friendly. when I were given 2-thirds of how by, some thing instructed me to look to the right. I immediately hit the brakes because an SUV became rushing by at about 40 5 MPH. i did not concern in any respect. i did not lose my heart or bypass "Oh, guy! I distinctly a lot died!" My existence did not "flash before my eyes." Why? because i'm absolutly positive of the position i go if I die. I thanked God for permitting me to stay a touch longer.

I don't believe in Heaven, but I'm not afraid to die, either. I think we should live this life to its fullest, but not be afraid when our time comes, and just be glad with the fact that we enjoyed it while it lasted. Like college.

not all people are afraid of death. not to long ago they rushes me to the hospital, i was hurting from what i thought was a severe headache, but when i got to the hospital, they said my blood pressure was 280 and climbing. my heart stopped twice, but i had an experience with "GOD", as i was laying there, i closed my eyes and low and behold, a white light covered my body and the pain was gone i didn't understand, so i opened my eyes for a second. they had turned all the lights out. i was not afraid then "GOD" was there.what do you call that.

I am not afraid of death. However, I am afraid of the way I might die. I sure would not want to burn or drown.

The fear of death, to my mind, is not that one is really afraid of dying but the feeling of people or loved ones or things to be left behind. It could also be the fear of the unknown.

I suspect it's because deep down, they really don't believe in Heaven - they just *hope* it exists. I don't believe in an afterlife at all, so I'm not too worried about where I'm going to end up.

I suppose people are simply afraid of the unknown. But, if we make our intentions known here and now while we have the chance, we don't have to be afraid anymore!
