The Rosary is not a piece of jewelry.
The Rosary is a tool that can be used by anyone in prayer.
The Rosary is rarely worn. Some religious sisters in habits wear them.
If you choose to wear a Rosary then remember to behave accordingly. Just like wearing a Cross or Crucifix, you are telling the world that you believe in and are trying to live the Gospel message.
With love in Christ.

I am Catholic. This really depends. Are you wearing this for a rock video for looks? Yeah that is sacraligious. Are you wearing this for praying? No this is not. I have a rosary bracelet. People have rosary rings. This is just another way to carry your rosary. To wear a regular rosary around your neck yeah some people actually do that too. They do it under their shirts and you do not see it. They also wear other religious sacramentals called scapulars and medals. It is just part of relgion. If we want to pray and are going through a hard or trying time this helps us. I personally like to have these things concealed. Not because I am ashamed, but because this is my private business. This is not about showing it. This is about my faith. I went to catholic school. The priests and nuns wore rosaries as part of their vestments. They would have one tucked through a belt. When we would take an exam they would walk through the class and watch us while praying. Prayer is a kind of meditative experience when done in a rituatal like that. It is very calming. I disgussed this with a priest. This is very common to the praying that a buddist does.
I have rosaries in my home. Other people do also. We put them in places that are special to us. I do not put my crosses and rosaries in a way that make people uncomfortable. I would rather not make people feel that way. My faith is mine. I am private about it.
Look at this site and think about how distasteful this is. Perhaps it is to you. It depends on how you were raised and how you feel.
There are different type rosary products on this page. Please scan down. Do not be turned off by those ugly silcone bracelets on the hand at the top. There is actually a neclace here and a bracelet. Call it what you may this is faith. This helps people. I personally would not want a necklace because I would not know how to pray with it around my neck. If I wore it I would not wear it so it showed unless I was only around other Catholics.

i discover it unhappy, all of the stereotypes in direction of Catholics. There are some issues incorrect with what you have suggested. a million) Catholics shouldn't placed on rosary beads, although there are various that do. besides the fact that this is one in each of those disrespect. Rosaries are actually not rings, they meant as a thank you to maintain song of prayers. you're saying a definite prayer on each bead of the rosary. 2) A rosary isn't for containing you from the devil. conserving a rosary at the same time as attempting to triumph over a temptation to devote a sin is nice, because of the fact it reminds you of God's and Mary's Holy presence. this is a reminder of your faith. 3) I even have by no skill witnessed an exorcism, nor seen a movie approximately exorcisms, so i won't have the ability to respond to that query. 4) this is a hardship-loose false impression that Catholics worship Mary and the Saints. yet we don't. We pay honor to Mary for being the mother of Christ. We pray to her so as that she would have the ability to take our prayers to the Lord. Mary (and the saints too) can hear our prayers. 1000's have experienced miracles by their intercession. 5) there is greater to faith that basically the Bible.

A Rosary is, first and foremost, a tool. It is used to keep track of one's progress as they pray the Rosary. Even though Rosaries typically resemble necklaces, Rosaries are not normally worn as such.
Having said that, it is not wrong to wear a Rosary around one's neck or hang them from the rearview mirror of a car - so long as it is for the right reasons.
If you choose to wear a Rosary, or hanging one from your rearview mirror, be sure that your only purpose is a gentle and quiet promotion of your Catholic Faith, and the Church in general.
My wife has a Rosary in her car. Me? Like many who have answered, I keep mine in a pouch on my night-table. It's always there when I pray my nightly prayers.

If I understand correctly, rosary beads are used to count the prayer you say because you have a specific number of times to say it, right? (ex. "12 Our Fathers" or "10 Hail Marys").
Note what Matthew 6:7 has to say about this: "But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words."

Rosary beads worn as jewelry is sacrelidge because it is using an object whose purpose is to be used in prayer as a mere decoration. It is misuse of an object whose intended us is for prayer.
If a person wears a rosary as a reminder of their faith and their need to pray, then it is ok.

As with other religions, a rosary is a counter, and even Buddhists have rosaries as do the Muslims...prayer beads.
