"The life of the flesh is in the blood" It's oxegen,nutrients,instinct? Not intellect? Need a transfusion?

If you take the blood out of your body what do you have ...live blood...dead body...the blood is alive but where did the intellect ,ect go?

Interesting question, but please add details. Many people believe this scripture prohibits eating or transfusing blood. Do you?
