A couple of months ago I thought my dog had asthma because of her breathing. The vet told me that dogs do not get asthma. What she had was allergic bronchitis. Take your dog to the vet if he is having asthma symptoms.

It would be the same as a human. But the best bet is take your dog to the vet. It could be kennel cough. Even if you haven't had your pet in a kennel or to the groomer kennel cough can be contracted by being with another dog that has it. Either way there is medicine for asthma or kennel cough.

Diagnosis by a Veterinarian. However, dogs don't usually get asthma. Cats do.

Seems really floppy and lazy. Looks at you with painfull eyes. Feel his chest. If it's rising too fast take him to a vet ASAP.
