There are a series of steps and movements, eventually leading to one placing their forehead on the ground.
It should not be difficult to find these steps diagram ed for you on the Internet.
Many of the steps connect to the true teachings of Islam, which is to surrender to God (Allah).
By the way, I would also recommend watching the show 30 days (by the guy who did Supersize Me). There is an episode where an evangelical Christian lives like a Muslim for 30 days, and, among other things, has to learn the steps in the Muslim prayer.

For any religeon,Praying to be done in a comfortable posture where you can forget of evrything and concentrate only towards your mind.Never a God in any religeon mentioned or requested the followers to pray.But as dedication and tribute to God who had shown the people the proper path to lead the life and end up in heaven people used to pray.I am a Budhist but I respect any riligeon,The muslims used to face the direction of quibla the Macca holy shrine in Saudi Arabia.

I'm not muslim but I know there is a specifc way they must pray. If I remember correctly, they use a prayer rug and always pray towards the East..towards Mecca.

yes, first you have to perform "Wudu",this is cleansing yourself .After this you can perform prayers(Salat).
There are special times to pray.We pray 5 times a day and can do extra prayers throughout the day, as long as it is not between Sunset " Maghrib" and total nightfall "Isha",this would be praying to evil.
We preform a number of steps during salat, it is easier explained in diagram form.
Contact your local Mosque or Islamic centre, they are very kind and helpful.
