* 1 Chronicles 21:1-14 - god kills 70000 people. Why? David decided to take a census (I guess only god is allowed to do that).
* Numbers 16:35-49 - god kills 15000 people. Why? They were angry about an earlier incident where god killed 250 people who were burning incense without permission.
* Numbers 25:1-9 - god kills 24000 people. Why? They were whoring around.
* Judges 1:4, 3:28-29 - god kills 10000 Canaanites, Perizzites, and 10000 Moabites. Why? Just because, that's why.
* Isaiah 37:1-36 - god kills 185000 Assyrians. Why? Their king and his men mocked god.
* 1 Samuel 6:19 - god kills 50000 people. Why? They looked into the Ark of the Covenant. I can't even pretend to understand this one.
* Amos 5:1-3 - god threatens to kill 90% of all Israelites when the tribe abandon him.

Genesis 6:5-7 - god decides to kill all life on earth, except one very small group. Why? He started to regret creating them in the first place. This one should confuse even the most hardcore fundamentalist. Ask yourself the question - would an all-knowing, all-powerful being who (supposedly) can predict the future with perfect accuracy ever know the concept of regret? Are we really expected to believe that god didn't see this coming?

How is that possible?

Alright, you got your chance to fume. I'll just make this short.

Nobody has the time or desire to read an explanation for each of the verses you stated, but let me point out Genesis 6:5-7 (about the huge Flood).

Noah and his family were building the Ark for many years. Throughout this whole time, Noah was warning the people that a huge flood was coming! He told them that they would be safe if they came in the ark.
Instead of going in the Ark where it was safe, the people mocked Noah.

They could have been safe! But they refused to listen to Noah's message from God. Ok, so did GOD kill those people?

The reason that God had regret and did not see the future of what was happening, is because the Devil, or Lucifer as some would call him, makes people do bad things and God can not predict that people will follow Lucifer. People have the right to choose between being good and being bad, and God has no choice in that, only hope that poeple will see that the ways of Lucifer are not the way to go and will follow in Gods ways, but as we all see everyday in the news and in the papers that is not the case!

The Real Question - Have you learned anything? Your stating all these facts or truths or whatever, but did you get the message and do you have understanding. Look -- I can state -- "50 x 5000 = 250,000" and big whoopee - it's tangible and corrected but it's just a math statement. You can even say - boy I am an idiot for stating a math fact. Now, if 50 people are going to give $5,000.00 each to you - the math problems sounds a little different. Now, the 50 people are doing it to raise money to help save someone you love and cherish -- the meaning is deeper than you and closer to you when you lose or are going to lose a loved one. 50 x 5000 + Understanding of context = Many things. Our Father Knows what's best for us, even despite ourselves, which from my experience...we can be very spiteful...even to the ones we our unconsciously aware are of whom are teaching us to rise above ourselves. Boy, sometime you just need a 2x4 upside the head...death is like puberty into another continues state of living - not much fun, but everyone has to mature...

Firstly, the Creator is entitled to do what he wishes with his creation. He cannot be accused of murder, only other humans can be accused of that.

Next, you have to understand what happened after Creation. Sin came into the world. The first murder took place. The world became so violent that God sent the flood. Later, other nations were actually sacrificing their children to idols by burning them alive. And I could go on....

Israel was chosen by God to be a holy nation. Other nations knew that God was with Israel, but ignored it and reaped the consequences. Israel made a covenant with God and when they broke the covenant, also reaped the consequences that they knew would happen.

This is as much as I want tgo write. You'll either begin to understand, or not, as the case may be

i like to think of him as the mass creator. he makes more people than he kills.....
Ya it really humbles me to think that God could take my life away if he wanted. A lot of times in the bible, God killed people to bring glory to his name. ie, "wow, God killed, 15000 people, i better shape up and follow him. And there are still instances of this happening today, but you have to look for them.
as far as God predicitng the future, I do not believe he does this. I believe his knowledge is much bigger than that. I believe that he is able to observe all the calues in the law of probability. ie, he is able to see all the possible paths you can take in your life, and he can see all the possible results that ccur in every decision in your life.
Doens't this make sense? If God were truly omnicient, he would know what would happen if you went right, and what would happen if you went left.
But the bible says that he has layed a path before us. So, although we all have unlimited choice and possibilities of what we can do, God knows which one is the best for us.
So, you can't blame God for his creation using the gift of free will and going the wrong way.

God disciplines his children. We have to look at the big picture of life and only God knows what that big picture is. Makes me stop and think all the time that I may be off the path of righteousness. The devil has been around just as long as God and God knows how to make a point.

Perhaps we should save the integrity of this god by accepting the notion that the unknown authors of this book were mistaken! They fabricated most of the Bible stories that fuel human vanity, without realising that they are thereby guilty of the greatest blasphemy. The character called Jehovah in the Bible has no rival in all history as far as infamy goes. See: http://360.yahoo.com/tunsaina

God instructs Moses to tell the isrealites....exodus:19:5,6.Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant then out of all nations you will be my treasured possesion. although the whole earth is mine you will be for a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.God loves his creation, but found all flesh to be evil, and regreted he made them.thus the flood.but what he planned for man he meant to begin again with noah. from time to time a man lived righteous and gained his favor, He loved his creation and always had hope for hismost beloved man.You know when cain killed his brother, he was afraid that he might be killed in his exile, and the Lord made a mark on him that whoever killed cain would be avenged 7 times over. even though cain killed his brother.God continues to love and have mercy for his most beloved creation, man~although not perfect, he finds favor with people many times and always had hope for what he had planned for them from the start. with the isrealites, he promised them a land and good things to his children, and to those that would influence them wrongly( as in the garden of eden) dont mess with God's children. also he would discipline his own and turn them over to those they did wrong against Him with, but when they cried out he was there for them, many times, forgiving and showing his mercy tho often they defaulted on the agreement. he could not stop loving them you seem chose to look at only what you want and fail to mention info surrounding events. and any of these folks you mention, you suppose they ever killed?

When you create a planet let me know how you would like it to be run..until then stick to the right to rule and the rules of the creator not the created. Who are you to talk back to the rightful owner and twist his purpose...get ready for the battle and be prepared. Only one winner in the battle of Armageddon! Give you one Guess? Gog is not ...so who is left? no over time needed as a hook is put into the jaw and drag to the slaughter of Satan

He can create, then He can destroy to recreate for the training of lazy brains.
The problem is only with man, he destroys while he can neither create nor recreate. If God does not interfere, just imagine how the world would be with the abased actions of thoughtless human beings who evolved from brainless monkeys!
