Yes he is ruling. He sat down own the throne in 1914 and his first order of business was to hurl Satan and the demons to earth (Rev. 11:15; 12:10) When this happened, the sign that Jesus described at Matthew 24:7 was fulfilled ("Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom..."). Although there had been wars before, this was the first time in history that war involved the entire world (thus its name, World War I) where not only did armies fight on the battlefields, but civilian populations were organized to give full support to the war. The World Book Encyclopedia noted that the number of soldiers killed and wounded was over 37,000,000, and added: “The number of civilian deaths in areas of actual war totaled about 5,000,000. Starvation, disease, and exposure accounted for about 80 of every 100 of these civilian deaths. Spanish influenza, which some persons blamed on the war, caused tens of millions of other deaths.” Jesus said this would mark the BEGINNING of "the last days" and that this was only the "BEGINNING of pangs of distress". (Matthew 24:8)

World War II brought food shortages. Shortly after the war Look magazine observed: “A fourth of the world is starving today. Tomorrow will even be worse. Famine over most of the world now is more terrible than most of us can imagine. . . . There are now more people hunting desperately for food than at any other time in history.” More recently The London Times reported: “There have always been famines, but the scale and ubiquity [presence everywhere] of hunger today is on a totally new scale. . . . Today malnutrition is said to affect more than a thousand million people; perhaps as many as 400 million live constantly on the brink of starvation.”—June 3, 1980.

There are additional signs of the last days given at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 regarding the attitudes of the general population: “In the last days . . . men will be lovers of themselves, . . . disobedient to parents, . . . without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, . . . lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, . . . wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse.” These attitudes are prevalent today.

Another feature of the last days is great confusion and fear among the nations: “On the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out . . . men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth.” (Luke 21:25, 26) Today people are in fear over possibility of nuclear war and many other things like the increase in violent crime, the weather patterns changing so dramatically, polluted water and air, deforestation, etc.

While its true that in past generations there were periods marked by violence and immoral behavior, never before in human history have ALL the conditions specified by Jesus been observed in the same generation and at the same time in every nation.

So in answer to your question, yes, Jesus is ruling and he has actually been pretty busy. He's already cast Satan and the demons out of heaven and you can rest assured that like any good military commander, he's preparing his armies of angels for the upcoming battle of Armageddon while he awaits the word from God to begin the battle. Judging from the looks of things here on earth, that probably won't be too far away. But then, God is the only one who knows for sure. (Matthew 24:36)

This is an awesome question. Well I believe. He does rule the world but not directly as a ruler on earth would. He can rule peoples minds and hearts, but only if we take that step to let him. Because if we do let him then things do change or should change in our lives and thereby in the world. The problem is, is that people dont want to let him in their heart and if they do sometimes they skew and tweak the faith and sometimes it gives Christians a bad rap. Which is extremely sad when you take a look back at it. Means we as Christians missed the boat I think sometimes, not Christ. I think the key is letting Christ into your life completely because then the world would change. God doesnt just take over because he doesnt want slavery and he is respectful of his creation. God is in control though wether we see it or not. Sometimes however it wont always work out the way we want it too or we think it should.

His ways are higher than our ways ~ is the only answer I can think of at the moment. Peace ;-)

Jesus is not believed to ruling the world. According to the Nicene Creed, a handy statement which most Protestant and Catholics believe,

Jesus "ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father, Almighty. From there He will judge the living and the dead".

Yes, he's ruling the world right now. However, he's allowing Satan to continue to deceive most people. Why? Well, Adam and Eve chose to obey Satan and not God, and then mankind crucified the Messiah. People are still "crucifying" Him on this website every day. He has to let us learn that the path we have chosen for ourselves only leads to tears.

He doesn't kill wicked people because he is not that kind of a God; He wants everyone to live

Jesus will come again to rule the Earth. The time seems to becoming soon according to the prophecies. The "mess" the world is in is exactly how the bible claims the end will be. Will you be ready? Many won't be.

Jesus has not returned to the world yet though and God gave us all free will. This means that its a mess because people have chosen to dishonor him. God does not kill the wicked people because he forgives. I mean what if he killed someone who was going to be christian in like 5 minutes time.!!!

There is a martial art that uses the energy of the enemy to defeat them selves. It is a matter of watching and directing that energy into a position that eventually leaves the opponent powerless. This is much like what Christ is doing here on Earth. He already knows that, in the end the enemy will defeat himself. He is allowing humans to operate in sin until they can't stand the foreign nature of it, to bring them to their knees. When humans get to the end of themselves, God is there with open arms to say, "Now my sons and daughters, lets try it my way." By this time they are out of resources and are at their bottom, so to speak. It is now that the Spirit of God can start His work.
Since God created this Planet, He can call it in anytime He wants. He really is more concerned about the reconciliation of His children. If humans were to completely destroy the Planet, He could snap His fingers and replace it instantly. I really believe that the negative creation that has taken place on top of God's plan, is an illusion that will not last much longer.

That is the exact question I ask myself every minute considering the **** i am going thru life right now. But I like to believe that God (if He/She is really an entity), really loves us. If there was no trouble, we would not go praying and crying to God.

The wicked people are sadly alone in their caged worlds. You are closer to God because you can talk to Him. Just think, would a wicked person ever pray to God for the fulfillment of his evils?

I f you read the bible you will understand ..when God created the world it was perfect but when God created man he created the with the ability to CHOOSE ad adam and eve (the first humans)chose sin theirfore brining sin unto the whole worl .. God does not want the world the way it is i fact he HATES it this way but he gave us a choice and the world is this way because we chose for tit to be this way!! he also gives us a choice to change our sinful ness "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shallbe saved!!!"the world will not always be like this in the bible it says that God will deasroy the world and make it perfect but you will go to hell (a lake of fire) forever if you do not trust in God for salvation and the believers will be in paradise with Jesus forever!!! Read John and Roamans in the Bible!!!

by the way GOD gives us a choice so if you deny God you are CHOOSING to live FOREVER in hell!!! He wants us all in heaven but gives us a CHOICE!!!!

Jesus does still rule the world nothing happens outside his power!!!

Jesus said the ruler of the world is coming and he had no hold on Jesus. Satan is the ruler !it is obvious by Cruel and hatefulness abound. The King will bring in his rulership soon. But few will listen to this logic. They are still in the WE CAN SOLVE IT mental state. Proof of failure should make all pray for God's Kingdom. Sadly this will not happen...Pride and arrogance.
