I have really thick and full hair. I love the way it curls when it is damp, but as soon as it drys its frizzy. Especially after I brush it. Do you have any ideas about what to use to get it to curl? I can't afford anything expensive.

I also like to pull it back into a ponytail.

I have curly hair, but didn't really realise its potential until I stopped brushing it. Now it curls lovely!

Before washing, comb with an afro comb, or any wide toothed comb. Then find a decent shampoo and conditioner (tre-semme is rubbish) - my fave is frizz ease for curls. Then when still dripping wet run some frizz ease serum through. And you're done - no need to comb or brush after washing (you'll just brush out the curls). You should have smashing curls before you know it!!

Good Luck!

If no joy with just this, try a bit of mousse, but don't put very much on - just enough to hold them. I only use as a last resort if I'm going somewhere special!

ok, here is a cheap way to work that out! its also natural, so ur hair wont get messed up. shampoo ur hair and then condition in the tub. while u have conditioner in ur hair, use a wide tooth comb to detangle ur hair and brush it. do not use a hairbrush with bristles, as they are harsh to the hair and will add more frizz. wash the conditioner out and towel dry your hair. apply a small amount of olive oil to your hair, not the same amount as you would for gel, but the same amount as you would for serum. around ten to fifteen drops of olive oil is good, depending on how long your hair is. if you want curls in your hair, do not comb or brush it, because you have already done so in the tub. if you decide you want it straight, all you have to do is comb it after you have the olive oil in. trust me, this really works, and olive oil does not smell bad like some people may think. and olive oil has other good nutrients for you hair. it will also make ur hair grow.

You should never brush curly hair. Curls like to clump together and when you brush them they seperate and become frizz. You should always comb your hair when it is wet with a wide tooth comb, then put some sort of product(Gel or mouse depending on your hair type and amount of hold you want),scrunch it and then dont touch it. The more you touch it the frizzier it gets.( this incudes running your fingers through it!!!) The only time you should brush your Hair is when you are going to straighten it Hope I could help liz

While your hair is still wet, apply gel, make sure you get the ends covered good, and the rest of your hair a fair amount but not gobs, just enough to cover your hair good. You don't have to buy an expensive brand, comb thru it once and blow dry...or let air dry...do not comb again....or brush...this is what makes it frizzy...many yrs of experience dealing with my own hair....Suave brand is pretty good, I use TRESemme Curl Care now...it smells so good...it is a bit more expensive than Suave, or other brands, but they both work well...Good Luck...I hope this helps... :) ~Peace~

Mine does the same thing , and I found the best way to treat the hair is don't use a brush after it dry. you can try using oil serum to calm it down while it's still wet , the are many curly hair products out there that are cheap and works well... to keep it from frizzing out, let your hair dry naturally . comb it when its wet , then leave it.

You need to use a mouse that has frizz control. That should make your hair softer and not frizzy, I really like Paul Mitchell , but there are a lot of mouses to choose from at any drug or grocery store that work for your problem and most of them are under $5.00. Good Luck.

Try Infusium 23 as a leave on conditioner. You need a conditioner or anti frizz serum...it sounds like your hair is dry.

Leave-in conditioners work pretty good, or you could try braiding it while it's wet and let it dry with the leave-in in it. Leave-in isn't expensive under 10 bucks.
