it just comes down to bad judgement, i was 17 and started seeing a guy, few months in he started abusing me and being so young i was confused, it took me 1 and a 1/2 yrs to leave. i suppose not every one is warned about men like that when they are young,as for older woman i can't say. the thing is after yr there for a while u find it hard to leave, i wish all women were made stronger so that it could be prevented

Good question.
The only reason I can think of is that their male role model when they were growing up was abusive as well, so this is normal for them. I canb't figure it out either.
I'm no expert, but this is what the experts say.

Somewhere along the line they developed a feeling of unworthiness and think this is all they deserve. At times it is hard to tell the chicken from the egg. Did they have this feeling of unworthiness or did he beat it into them?

low self-eteem.... some just like 2b treated that way... that comes from a lack of having a father figure while growing up, or should I say a good father figure while growing up......
