A long, long time ago I worked at a casino in Atlantic City. There was this really, really annoying guy. On top of being generally annoying, he was one of those people who had to one-up everything anyone said (even if they weren't talking to him). If you won $5 from a scratch-off lottery ticket, he said he won $10. If you were talking about last night's concert, he said he went back stage. If you said you had a sore throat, he said he had Ebola.

Anyway . . . for a number of reasons other than the one-uping he was difficult to work with. He was, in fact, one of the most challenging people I have ever had to work with. But then he got hit by a truck while crossing a street and broke both his legs and couldn't work. So that pretty much took care of that. (And no, I didn't pay the guy in the truck to hit him.)
