If you smoke cigarettes or ciga-weed, why do you never have your own lighter? You are always asking other people for a lighter to light your own cigarette. Please help me understand.

Nicotine causes the grey matter at the back brain to grow, resulting in having short term memory. So, they just cannot seem to remember where they've placed their lighter!

Well the only explaination for this is that we all are in our basic selves a lighter thief, the good lord knows there have been many a time leaving a party only to arrive home with a convieniance store supply of lighters in my pocket......But I was not to feel bad for just the previous weekend before arriving at planned party hangout stopped at the store brought a 4 pack of lighters and upon returning home needing to use the toaster to light one up so the moral of this story is what comes around goes around and there my dear person is the explaination to your question I hope this has shed the light upon the great phrase Got A Light

Smoking is a very social thing, a lot of people intentionaly forget their lighter so they can use "can I have a light" to strike a conversation. Also if you are a long term smoker you will have smoking as a habit and like any other habit it is easy to run out of a lighter or to misplace or forget it all together. Think to yourself how often you've misplaced your car/house keys or maybe you think I'm crazy because maybe not everyone has this problem or misplacing their things from tme to time.

ha. this is a good question. i'm a smoker and i have that problem. I never have a lighter. However, I've noticed that when I do have one, it is one that I took from someone who let me borrow one. I can't even tell you the last time I bought a lighter. I've noticed this to be true for most smokers. When we have a lighter, it is someone else's that we took.

I always have a lighter. These folk may just be part time smokers
It might be that people use this as an excuse to talk to other people too.

maybe guys like you and they are searching for a reason to talk to you. or someone may want to smoke suddenly, i'm not the smoker i dont have a lighter though i smoke sometimes, if anything i buy it. i dont like others asking lighter thats why i nevere ask.

I usually always have a lighter, unless someone else asked to use it and walked off with it. That happens a lot, its a cycle you take someones lighter and someone takes it from you.

chicken comes first or eggs. Ultimately there was this first smoker who lost his/her lighter, then he/she began to ask around for someone else's lighter, then never returned it. so it goes on and on...always lost my lighter..
