Meaning?

Cats are very clever, but it's not turning lights off or moving things around that makes them clever, or that makes people think them clever.

When I just think of how fast my cat is judging people... and righly, too, I cannot help envying him.

I absolutely do. A cat I once had was able to open doors, he used both of his paws to hang from the doorknob and turned it using its head, another cat would jump on the toilet and put the seat up to pee inside and he also knew how to turn the water on the kitchen's faucet when he needed a drink.

When I was growing up, we had a cat who could walk through doors and walls. He still lives with my parents. If they are capable of that, I'm sure they are capable of turning off lights and moving things. Some are quite psychokenetic.

My young cat has been known to open door, mainly the door to where his food is kept. He's knocked off the light a few times but thats only when he's chasing bugs.

Sounds more like you have a visitor .

OH YES THEY ARE!
My pepper has been doing strange things since she was a kitten.

There was a cat in the news a few months back that would roam the neighborhood he lived in for garden gloves & bring them home.
There is still some wildness lurking in every house cat!

Oh yes. I have one; her name is Pippin, who always used to press the re-dial button on my phone when I was asleep. She made that many international phone calls from my phone; luckily everyone hung up on her because she wasn7t making sense.
I have one of those fancy loos with bidet attachments and things, and when I was sitting on it, Pippin used to push the shower button and that was so awful! Imagine getting a squirt of water just when ... well, anyway, she doesn't do THAT anymore!
Although I have talked about Pippin, I also have two kittens who get very playful when I go to bed. Horrible when they turn on the C.D. player and music booms out; they also erase all the messages on my answering machine.
Cats are uncanny!

yes, especially the moving things, as long as it isn't too heavy, the lights might be tricky and might be done on accident though. I have a cat that opens doors, cabinet doors, from the outside to get inside them...lol

They are pretty clever. I had a cat that used the commode. I was alone in the house when I heard someone on the co mode, peeing it scared me. When I looked in there My Josie Bel was peeing in the co mode. She was a beautiful cat solid white with one blue eye and one yellow eye. I moved from TX. to TN. and someone stole her, I still worry about her. Its been a year. I finally got another cat. He is a Persian his name is BO-Bo. But he still ain't my Josie Bel.

personally i have two cats - one dumbarse and one very intelligent... neither have turned lights on or off. the dumb one does loves to play with anything round though and is forever carrying things in his mouth.

so i would say it is possible that they moved things around, depending on the object. re: the lights.... i would have to say its not very likely at all.
