Found a worm in a salad before. I complained to the establishment, and the chef inconsiderately snatched it with a tissue and crushed it, saying "no, that's a shrimp, that's a shrimp...". Like HELLO~ as if! What a liar...I'm not going back there again. Hmph.

A tooth in a milk chocolate bar (milky way brand) when i bit into the bar, which turned out to be the first tooth i dropped.I initially thought it was a chip off the white milk chocolate.

Another time I lost a tooth was when i bit into a meatball. I thought the meatball was bleeding, turned out to be my gums. The tooth was sticking out of the meat it had dented.

And a cockroach enjoying a nice little swim in my noodles.I requested for the refund and the said" Just remove it, it's okay ." Gods. It doesn't matter ,actually, that i didnt get back the money. What i was more angry about was the fact that they didn't apologise! I mean, who knows what germs were in there...

Suffice to say, i hate eating at cheaper resaurants now.

When I was only young I bit into a scone which had a dead wasp in it. My mother wasn't able to take it back to the shop because either I or the dog (memory hazy on this) ate the rest of it! - found a piece of tooth in a meat pie once and was about to complain when I did a quick mouth examination with my tongue and realised that it was part of one of my teeth in fact. And this whilst I was on on a first date with a girl!

I found a tiny metal spring in an ice cream from an ice cream van once. It was the type you have to scoop out of a tub, not from the Mr. Whippy machine! How disgusting that nearly everyone has found something in their food at one time or another!

Twice. A fingernail in some dried beef and another time, a bird feather in some potato chips.

Me and my friend were out for an Indian once, and we had poppadoms to start, and you know they bring out the little tray with the sauce / pickles on. Well I was prodding one with a spoon, and I found an earwig.

But I didnt say anything, I just covered it over with the sauce and thought the next people could find it and complain, I wasnt going to have them spitting in my food for complaining.

About 30 years ago at the Meridien Hotel in Paris, at the bottom of my salad bowl after I nearly had completely finished eating it, I found a slug. I brought this to the attention of the waiter, who asked if I wanted another salad. (Good heavens, no!)

I've also found hair in food at times, but that's no big deal.

What, like that American woman who tried to blackmail the foodie place in San Jose, CA and put a severed finger in her food? Thankfully nothing so revolting.

It's usually the effect that eating something out of date has on you that makes you realise it had something nasty in it. Or, horror of horrors, something that wasn't out of date. Which means that the hygiene of the place you got it from is called into question.

So yes, I've found salmonella and campylobacter. Both equally tasty, and hours of fun.

Yes I once had a salmon fishcake and there was a piece of metal in it. I took it back to complain and the answer I got was that it couldnt possibly have got in there by itself. I had to go to the dentist as it chipped my tooth and bruised my gums when I bit into it. I was totally furious and gobsmacked that they wouldnt do anything and more or less said id put it there......
