I'd have to say Britain. Their military might is greater than everybody except for the U.S.

According to the article at Wikipedia - that is.

Plus, it seems like the British military sees a lot more service around the world than the French military does. Of course, that doesn't mean they're better - but it would seem that they would be more experienced than the French.

Britain has more men and equipment. Some say they also have better fighters. The best military unit France ever produced is "la légion estrangére" (the foreign legion) 100% made out of foreign soldiers.

Dan B you tosser it took the French 75 years to win a major land battle in the 100 years war and only ever won because of the enormous logistical problems of medevil warfare and crazy English kings.
Now France actually has a larger Armed forces than us and a very well equipped air force but they arnt very good at moving troops to where they are needed so I recon we would get so far then run out of men to go any further due to lack of man power

France never puts soldiers in the field, not even during WW II when France was occupied. They let the U.S. and Britain keep bailing them out so they can talk about what fools they are.

France spends 2.6% GDP on defense, Britain 2.4%. Most of France's troops are still at home, so if both country's homelands were attacked France would be the best able to defend itself in terms of manpower. However, as France is a bigger country with porous borders it makes it much harder to defend.
