By saying examinations I take it you are referring to your academic exams.
In that case
Step No 01 - Prepare for the subject as best as you can
Step No 02 - On the day of the exam get some good sleep.
Step No 03 - Relax by watching some good TV shows like your favourite cartoons .
Step No 04 - If possible get your self dropped to exam hall.
Step No 05 - Do not carry any notes . guides .or books .Just carry your writing material
Step No 06 - Do not discuss the subject with any body.
Step No 07 - Take a glass of water just before entering the hall
Step No 08 - When you enter the exam hall just sit down breathe easily till you get you get your question paper.
Step No 09 - Read the question paper calmly . Do not start answering straight away . Mark the questions in preferential order you want to answer.
Step No 10 - By this time you have settled down really cool and leave the rest to evaluator and wish your self good luck.

I have test axiety too.. best thing I have found is to clear your mind for at least 15minutes prior, when you get in just take a few breaths, close yur eyes for a few seconds to help clear your mind. If you studied, paid attention in class.. then don't worry! You know it..
Try this..
Read all of the questions.. Answer the ones you are sure of the answers, that leaves more time for the ones that are harder.
Clue... In Reading comp test.. the answers are in the paragraphs they want you to read first, Read the questions first, then the paragraph.. The questions are usually presented in the order they appear in the paragraph.

I presume you are referring to studies. If that is the case, then nothing beats being ready. On the other hand, there are exams that are hard to relax e.g. dental examinations. Legal cross examinations etc.

Are you talking about "Papsmears?" If so, then I usually have in the past, (its been awhile,,since I had one, because its something I think all women put off, unless their pregnant) but, I always would, just seperate myself "Mentally" from whatever's going on down there... I also prefer, female Gyno's now, and have for the past, oh 5 years... For the mere fact, they know, what the "female" body looks like, they have one... And their more "Gentle" when it comes to putting the clamps in, etc... Plus, they dont have to have, a nurseing assistant in there with them, making us feel even more "Uncomfortable" than we already do.. Good-Luck!

Suck on some Peppermint candies.

They not only help you keep calm, but they can make more alert to your test questions.

I've done this plenty of times. My HS teachers recommended it during Standard Testing days, and I continued on with the tradition during college exams. It has worked for me.

First thing is to study, If you don't know the material you will probaly be nervous. Don't rush to get to the test, give yourself plenty of time. Take your mind off the test, and stop worrying about it.
