I am an Indian. India is also a victim of Muslim terrorist attacks. But I don't hate Islam. Actually I don't hate any religion at all. I believe in Sree Ramakrishna's concept -

"How many opinions are there, is actually that many ways to reach".

And the goal is The almighty, Eshwar, Allah, God or Nirban.

I think that some people are using people's feelings to achieve their own goals and people are driven towards hate, disbelief, disrespect to each other. Muhammad didn't know that some suicide bombers will not hesitate to kill innocent children and say that Koran has told them to do so. He only showed the way to reach "him" the greatest of all, "Allah hu Akbar".

Vivekananda once told in Chicago, USA, -

"I didn't come here to convert you to Hindus. But to make Christians better Christians, Muslims better Muslims, Hindus better Hindus"- by respecting, loving others.

If there is a God he is the same for all. Some call him God, some call him Allah, some call him Bhagyan. And he doesn't want we, his creation, fight among us.

Let us respect each others and find the true criminals destroying the peace. it may be the Muslim terrorists or it may be the leaders running behind Oil.

I think the problem is the fact that Islam is used by extremist to take the life of others for their cause. Especially in relation to suicide bombings. This is suicide, yet some nations, such as Iran actually call this a holy act when Islam specifically says "suicide" is a no no. Sadly, if Muslims want people to think differently about Islam, they must take steps to encourage and educate others about Islam. The first step is to assist all governments in any knowledge or contact with extremists who plan to use Islam as their excuse for their behavior or crimes. Secondly, Muslims should do more to educate others in regards to their religion. Finally, and most importantly, Muslims need to convince other Muslims about the rights of women, especially in regards to rape cases. While some I have spoken to say Islam doesn't punish a women who is raped, it is the case in some Countries and until that type of behavior is stopped, people won't see Islam as anything but an angry, violent religion.

By mentioning westerner, i think u mean mainly the americans.

It is the work of the zionist controlling the americans economy and media.
See how in the early 1900s they despise the jews. But since after WW2 the jews gradually gain control of the people through entertainment initially and economy gradually till the media.

After the cold war ended, the americans change their target towards Islam.Especially since there is a rise in Islam conversion and the Muslims themselves start to turn back to their religion since the 1970s.

And since americans control the world economy, their views is most likely will be shared by the europeans.

That is my opinion.
If 9/11 doesnt occurs, they will still find a way to start a war against the Muslims.
Actually i still dont fully believe 9/11 is done by Muslims extremist.
I still think there might be a conspiracy.
Cos Islam is against that kind of war, where innocent victim and children will be involved.

not only the western people hate islam ,the muslims themselve does not know the god whom they serve or rather has a misleading information about the real GOD call ALLAH. He is a fair God who will never entrust his legitimate function to any human to perform for him. That is the reason for judgement after death. He is a god of love that is why he rains on both the sinner and the righteous. He does not force neither was he a fundamentalist and that is why he gave us freewill. The muslims does the greatest havoc to the religion by actualising the dictate of the satanic verses as discussed by my fellow commentator above. those cannot actually be the dictate of a loving Allah. it must definitely be the dictate of past evil men like BL that must have been smuggled into the holy books. Islam is beautiful and must be preached with love not enforce with terror. Presently all around the world islam is associated with terror, war ,killings ,amputation, antidevelopment e.t.c wherever you see islam peace is absent then why wont the west be against islam? i employ my fellow muslim brothers and sisters to let us change strategy and follow the real dictate of a loving Allah. lets show love, lets stop the killings even of ourselves, let preach islam with love and show kindness and let the west see the beauty in islam. We will definitely gain more convert to Allah and change the west attitude to Islam.

Like any religion that does not keep up with the times, Christianity included, the Qur'an has passages that are not so friendly sounding taken out of context. People use those as examples, much the same as fundamental Christians take isolated passages out of the bible to make their particular point, seems almost like they ignore the rest of the message purposefully.

I also think the fact that the language is so vastly different than that of modern times, and the sentence and word structure makes it largely not understandable or interpretable in modern times adds to suspicion.

The fact that Muslims worldwide self-segregate and not integrate with their communities is one of the strategies that has allowed the more extreme groups to exist, and in addition adds to public perception of the unwillingness of the followers as a whole to assimilate into this vast modern culture. Fundamental to the American culture is assimilation, whether our ancestors were from Europe, Asia, South America, whatever, the successful strategy involves assimilating.

The fact that entire countries, universities and undergraduate schools in the Middle East preach destruction of infidels has gained much attention and is shameful for the entire religion, but the fact that it is sanctioned makes Westerners wary that that sentiment is widespread.

The Islamic faith, as currently practiced has not kept up with modern times, which is an enigma to me, because as it is structured, it seems that it would have had much more potential of doing so than Christianity. I think not having a central leadership like the Pope has not served them well. I know the Pope does not speak for all denominations of Christianity, but if very large numbers of Christians began such activities covertly in the name of Christianity, and the pope came out with a huge proclamation that this was NOT Christianity, it would shoot a hole in their ability to use it as a recruiting tool. How ironic that I use that example, since the heinous atrocities perpetrated on much of Europe and the MidEast almost a thousand years ago came straight out of the Vatican. But it is my earnest opinion that if there were some central Imam or grand leadership, perhaps they could steer the followers in a (hopefully) more peaceable direction.

That and the television screens were and are filled with celebrating people when a major blow to the western world happens, who appear to us to be of the Islamic faith, that was a major turn off.

I think based on the current polictical climate, people are confused and looking for a target for their anger and frustration for what they see as the "the world going to hell in a hand basket".

Most people don't know Islam and believe that the the few bad apples we see in the news blowing up one thing/place or another a representation of the religion and people as a whole. Personally, I blame it on media spin and an overt response to political stimuli. It seems to me that the misunderstandings are on both sides too....not all western people hate Islam....just a few bad apples in our barrel!

I think you probably should give some specifics.

I dont think westerners do 'hate islam'
I do agree westerners do not know alot about Islam either, but it works both ways. Most people in Islam dont know alot about the Bible either and are not so accurate always

most people would not judge the local Methodist church for what the KKK is up to for example

some of the basic tenets of Islam
1) calling God father is a sin
2) Jesus did not die on the cross
are not consistent with the Bible or the gospel
Jesus in fact called God father in all but one of His prayers
I do not think it is right to hate anyone and prefer
speaking the truth in love as the Bible commands

Why do Islamic people hate Westerners? Although their knowledge about them is via misleading and untrusted sources?
Live and let live, I just want to be able to be my own religion without people trying to kill me for it. And I offer the same courtesey in return.

I don't hate Islam. I hate terrorists that go around with bombs strapped to their bodies in hopes of killing other people so they can get into heaven. What kind of ****** up logic is that? Maybe if I kill 100 people I'll get the good virgins. Ones without a the unibrow.
