Why are Christians constantly trying to force their beliefs upon other people? I don't subscribe to Christianity and thats the way i choose to live my life. U wont hear me telling Christians that their beliefs are wrong but Christians are telling me that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the light! That i doomed to go straight to hell if i don't believe in him. What about Mohammed? What about Budda? What about Shembe? Please free yo minds and u'll see how beautiful variety is. Life does not revolve around Christianity and it's followers

I will put it like this.

If you saw a Mother of a young toddler always allowing her child to run out in the road ... would you say anything? Would you irritate her in order to prompt her to do the right thing?

That feeling you would have toward the mother is the same feeling many Christians have towards the unbeliever. Most do not hate you, but love you so much that they are willing to look like an idiot to try and show you what the right choice is.

Unfortunetly, this is the wrong way to act.

If a Mother was actually allowing her toddler to run in the road, the best thing to do, if she did not listen the first time would be to call the police.

So too with the Christian. It is not up to us to force others to believe, it is up to the Holy Spirit who grants faith to whom He wills. The Holy Spirit would be like the police with the Mother. Either the Mother will stop neglecting her child (or in this case her faith) or she will continue to neglect.

Does this make sense?

OK. But why do you non-Christians try and force your beliefs on us? You say here that "Life does not revolve around Christianity..." Thats a dogmatic statement, isn't it! That's you, forcing your belief on others, So there's no difference between us really, is there.

By the way, Jesus said that "I am the way, the truth, and the life!"

hi, I'm a born-again Christian and i won't force my beliefs on you or anyone else. Jesus never forced Himself on anyone either. you believed in Him or you didn't but the reason we want to share the good news about Him is like this... when you see a great movie, hear a fantastic song or hear a good joke don't you want to just tell everyone about it also?? it's not that you're forcing it on them, right? you just want to let them know there's something great so they can enjoy it for themselves. same here. and as far as Jesus being the only way, it is, He said, "I am The way, the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father but by Me." and that's just the way it is.... now as far as you being a sinner, we're all sinners, there is not one of us that's better than anyone else, Jesus is the only perfect one and that is why we all need Him in order to get into heaven. he paid the price for us on the cross so we wouldn't have to. now as far as budda, mohammed and shembe? they are just people, just like us.....

You are absolutely right. Those of us who believe in Christ are suppose to be witnesses to those who are not but at the same time we can't be so over zealous that we turn folks away. Variety and being aware is good - we should all be that way. It's just like atheists who put down religion. It's usually out of ignorance that we put others down - that goes for all of us.
Life for some of us does revolve around Christianity - it makes us who we are.

I'm a Christian. I have a strong faith, BUT I don't believe in walking up to someone and telling them they are going to burn in hell if they don't believe in Jesus. I happen to believe that Jesus is the way and the light, but I don't have the right to judge anyone who doesn't think the same as me. There are multiple versus in the Bible that I can cite that attest to not judging others. "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone." "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Christians that tell you you're going to burn in hell are not true Christians in my opinion. God calls people when he believes their hearts are ready. I believe that you are not to convert others, but simply serve as a witness for the power of God's love. By being a witness I mean, letting the SEE The power of God in your every action and deed. Not force them to believe what you believe. I commend you for standing your ground. Continue to do that, but try to keep your eyes open for the "good Christians" who only want to act as witnesses for you. Try to observe how they act. If you see the light that's wonderful. If you don't, that's okay, too. Good luck with everything and remember to stay strong and grounded in whatever it is you believe!

Say i didn't know, which is not true because you do know. or spend sorry to say and i actually feel sad saying this but be in the judgement of God for foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. i feel sad that you have this belief :(

The difference between Mohamed, Buddha and Jesus is that Jesus was God the Son in human flesh. Mohamed and Buddha were just men. Jesus came to earth to die for our sins, and He's the only way to Heaven. If Christians get zealous, it's because they don't want you to spend eternity in Hell.

Listen find the difference bewtween Spirituality and religio. There are many paths throught spirituality, you just need to find one. I can suggest a way because that way works for me, I cant tell you it will work the same for you. Everything aint for everybody! Forcing people to try to believ what you believe is stupid!
