It is probably legal--but it would be a cruel thing to do to the child!

Yes they can have the first name God and middle name jesus and ur last name. That is legal in The US. THERe are no bounds to naming your child here in the US. That is a shame though. There should be limits to everything.

Being named "Jesus" is very common in spanish speaking countries and in areas that used to be ruled by spain - like say the philipines. "Jesus" is used in first names and as parts of last names.

Christopher and Christine and all their derivations come from the word "Christ".

Emmanuel means God is with us and this is very commonly used in some countries.

I've never heard of some one being named "God". While I think it is distasteful and should not be done, I can't think of any laws that would prevent this. I know that if my parents named me God I'd hate them for it and that I'd pick a nick name and get a court order to change my legal name as soon as I was of age.

Nothing would surprise me but it may depend on the judge. You can name your child Jesus - I've seen that before. However, why put that baggage on an innocent child? If you want to honor God - listen - he will give you the name he has chosen for your child - just be still and listen.

You can name your child what ever you want in the U.S. I have met some children with some Messed Up names ... There are no rules how ever you would have to be crazy to name your child GOD and doom your child to being picked on until he gets old enough to legally change it to something else.

Sure they can, just another name.

If Frank Zappa can name his child Moonbuggy then what the hell.

I personally thing that it sounds better in the other order

Jesus God Smith or put your own last name there.

Yes I think that's do-able in the US. Personally I wouldn't want the name.

If you like the name, change it to yours! You can do that in the US as well.

Please don't put that "label" on an innocent child.
