A company run is always led by the company commander, who is a captain. The commander runs in front of the formation with his guidon bearer (flag bearer) two steps behind and two steps to his left. There are different variations to the company formation, which are outlined in the Drill and Ceremonies Field Manual FM 22-5. The company may run en masse (one formation) or by platoons in collumn. En masse, the platoon leaders - second lieutenants - will run in line behind the commaner and guidon bearer, followed by the company formation. By platoons, the platoon leaders run in front of their individual platoons, just like the commander. The first sergeant and executive officer, a first lieutenant, normally are in the rear of the formation to make sure everything runs smoothly. The noncommissioned officers take turns calling cadences with the cadence caller centering himself/herself to the left of the formation.
Keep in mind that company runs are normally done for morale building purposes, not for building physical fitness. The company can only run as fast as its slowest soldiers or soldiers will fall out. And if the formation runs slow to accomodate the slower soldiers, the fastest soldiers will not get a good workout.

Usually company runs are done en masse. After an NCO has led the company through stretching/warm up the company, they will be given a right-face and commander and the guidon bearer will move the new front of the formation. The company commander will run in front with a cadence caller (usually an NCO) calling cadence on the side. As the other people who answered indicated, running in a company formation is not the best way to keep people in shape, but the runs should not be painfully slow either. The XVIII ABN Corps standard is a 9 min mile for 4 miles which is pretty slow but there is no reason you can't work your company up to faster pace.

It depends if its a post run or just a company run? It also depends on how involved your company commander is? We were usually broken down into seperate running groups. Then either the first sergent would lead or the platoon Sgt.

As a better half you're able to do despite you like, and ***** to whoever you like. i assume even with the undeniable fact which you're especially asking what that's going to accomplish and the respond to that isn't something. As you're able to already comprehend each and every base already has an IG and each soldier in that enterprise already could make an IG criticism, anonymously in the event that they like, if issues are that undesirable. If this enterprise rather became constanly "out of compliance", despite it incredibly is meant to intend, the undertaking might style itself out. No battalion commander is going to maintain an "out of compliance" enterprise commander. i've got been area of greater than a number of jacked up instruments. consistently doing stupid stuff like waiting until the final minute on Friday to get the grass decrease, consistently getting out previous due for payday activites because of the fact of adverse making plans, etc. in case you think of stuff like that even with the fact it incredibly is something all and sundry up the chain rather cares approximately you're flawed.

I was in the Navy, not the Army, but I would think that the squad leader usually leads the runs. Don't quote me though, because as I said I was a squid, the only place I ran to was the mess hall. :)

in my unit, usually the commander or the 1SG leads them if the commander isnt there.
Our XO's run on the side usually. to our right, and the cadence caller is the only person on the left.
but they don't really boost morale..hurt the knees yes from the small choppy steps...
