I truly do not understand hatred directed against people. There are many things I may be against, or I may not agree with but I do not hate any one. Why do you hate?
Peace Be With You,
Debra

No I do not hate a person. I have been harmed by others in this life like everyone else. I just cannot hold a grudge. Perhaps I am defective in this. I believe that hatred is a self made prison.

PLEASE understand we ALL get angry and offended, but I am speaking of PURE HATRED, that carries on for years. Not anger, not dislike.

Hating and holding grudges against other people only hurts ME. I try my best not to do that.

"I will not let anyone else ruin my life by making me hate them"
I have no idea who said that. I put it in quotes because it wasn't my own original thought. Someone told that to me in the 70s, when I was teenager, and it has stuck with me ever since.

To feel hatred against someone is to allow that person to have control over you at least emotionally. It is an exercise in futility as nobody loses out but you in the final analysis. You can dislike they way someone has treated you but you must realize that people can only treat you the way you allow them to treat you. You are the one who controls how you react to a person or situation. Sometimes the best revenge is living well without acknowledging the person who is trying so hard to upset you. And anger only takes years off of your life. Be in control of your emotions, not the other way around.

I don't hate, but I absolutely have bitterness towards my ex-boss. After I gave my notice, I found out that the reason she had been downright mean was that she thought I was having an affair with her husband, which is SOOOO not something I would EVER do. So I feel sorry for her because her anger was all because she was afraid of losing someone she loved, but I was bitter because we had been friends and I thought she knew me better than that. I wouldn't want to see her again, but if she came to me, I would be there for her. That's as close as I come to hate.

No Debra, I'm with you. You could be the Debra I know, for all I know. I've never known hate or bitterness as far as I know.

In my head I know we are all part of God so I couldn't sustain those feelings for long even if they arose in me. Besides, they'd do me much more harm than the other person.

I get very frustrated at times. The most frustrated I have gotten is with the Atheists or Pagans on this board who continuously attempted to bash Jesus.

That bothers me ... I repent of my actions, my posts and my thoughts of them.

But I do not feel hatred, I don't think I have ever REALLY felt true hate for anyone.

Hate is a strong word. I like to believe I don't hate anyone either. I may strongly dislike someone for a period of time but then I forgive and get over myself.

I hate people who for their own selfish reasons killed and murdered my sister-in-laws parents. No reasoning will ever EXPLAIN to me why they did it. And NO I will never forgive them.
They took away my nephew and niece's grandparents. They will never get to see them grow up and be a part of their lives.
Sorry but I HATE and I'd like to see them suffer just as much as my family has. No this is more than anger..the anger has passed. This is Hate! and until you've experienced it or walked in my shoes don't judge or lecture me on forgiveness or God.

you can not "not hate" anyone, may God protect you...but wont you hate a man that raped you, that hit your mom till death, that killed your dad in front of your eyes...yes u would but you will have the strength given by God to have patience... that is the test of a true believer. i swear the rape and killing and beating... have happened to aloooooot of palestinian girls and women on the hand of the jewish army... a cold blooded army... and still these girls have an extremely strong belief in GOD, God will give them patience and the heavens...dont you wonder how a girl that went through all of this and still has a strong faith?!?! anyways i hate each and every person that scars the life of another.

Yes, But I try to overcome it every day. I pray that God will help me with this and He does. It it becoming less each day, but I still fill with rage when I have to deal with this person. He is just a mean hateful person that loves to place the blame for his problems on others, namely me.
