I have a seven year old Rottweiller/Olde English mix and he has suffered with demodex for the last five years. I took him to several different vet's trying to get rid of it. We finally settled on a vet that started treatment with medicated shampoo's and one and one half cc's given orally for ten day's and up'ed one half cc every ten day's till we reach two and a half cc's, and then we back it off in the same incrument's and then stop it. That does work, but for only about five or six month's. I do NOT like giving this med to him, I know what it does to him, It's the only thing that's given him a good quality of life that I've found. Anyone have a CURE, help!

Demodex can be brought up by stress. If you get it under control and it keep comming back your dog may be suffering for some sort of stress in his life. What would that be.
This type of mange is an auto immune thing and it does come back and flare up on occasion.
I would look at changing his diet. Very high quality very clean dog food. Like Soild Gold, California Natural, Innova, Merrick, something along those lines maybe even BARF diet.
Look very hard at his day to day life and figrue out what the stress is if there is any.
Some dogs just have big problems with this stuff and others once you get in under control it is gone forever.
Your vet is treating it the same way ours vets do and it is the best protocal we have found in our rescue group.

I don't know what to say. How's your dogs life at home? One of my dogs had demo mange. She had 2 skin scrapings and 2 mitiban dips ,then was fine. The mitiban dips are extremely harsh. I don't like to use them if there's another alternative.

I think you have to look very hard at what's causing this.

Quit stressing him. Figure out how you are stressing him. Sarcoptic is due to mites. demadectic is usually brought on from stress. We see a lot of it in rescue but once we get them in foster homes and settled they go to their new homes and its over.
