Because the catholic church is looking to restore the power they had from about 300AD to 1400AD. They want a universal church that accepts all faiths, except those who truly follow the One True God.

I'm sure anyone in power is afraid to some extent. Perhaps the pope is picking his battles and he can't save the world all at once - just one injustice at a time.

he could be..why aren't the Muslims who know that this current behavior isn't right speak out against the killing that's being done ???we have no leaders.we have no people with guts.the pope isn't helping either .all these so called leaders are just figureheads.they do not lead the people in truth.they all seem to have their own agendas and interpretations of Gods laws.what a mess this world will Be if we as the people don't risk our lives for the truth. who wants to live in a world of illusions.that is certainly what America is turning out to be.

Political correctness. I think the Pope himself is a great person, but so are you friend. I think the position of Pope is a rather joke of a position. Its all more of a social thing, and people almost worship him on the streets... plus the pope mobile, I doubt Jesus would allow himself to be paraded around on a vehicle of such, and I don't think the Pope should either.
There is way to much attention given to the Pope and I think that its ridiculous anyhow.

The Pope speaks of the world's injustices in almost every speech and sermon.
People just hear what they want to hear.
Here are just a couple of stories concerning the recent Israeli-Lebanon war:

July 30: Pope urges Lebanon ceasefire: http://www.mb.com.ph/archive_pages.php?url=http://www.mb.com.ph/issues/2006/07/31/MAIN2006073170541.html
