I asked earlier if I should stay with my depressed husband who wants to quit his job every 4-6 months. Most of you said I should work it out with him, and seek a therapist. To update you, he has been to a therapist with another apointment in a week. He didn't quit, and is calling what happend "a bad day". We are going to continue therapy. Now my question is this. We were planning to renew our vows in November on our tenth wedding anniversary, with the wedding we never had. I have deposits down, and a dress bought. I have everything planned, just have to buy the stuff. Should I proceed with the plans?

He wants to have the wedding, but I believe the stress of it all was partialy to blame.

Talk to his therapist and see what they advise, they would be better able to tell you what is going on with him. I realize that you want to have the big "wedding" celebration but if it is going to bother him more than necessary then it would not be worth it for you or him.

I don't forsee why you wouldn't continue forward ... if its a not a issue for your husband then I would continue. Good luck on renewing your vows .. continue with the therapy and I hope all gets better

a question for you- do you feel any less "married" cos you didn't have a day with all the trimmings. & that is what it is **Trimmings** they dont change your committment to each other.
If the idea of the **big day** is distressing him then maybe you shoudl consider doing things on a smaller scale
My ex was diagnosed as 'manic depressive' many years ago but refused to continue getting help - so you are fortunate that your man is at least doing that.

No, it would not be a happy time. Wait until your 25th anniversary, and make it something special then. You two have a lot to work through, so give him a break and relieve him of the stress.
